Unfortunately, he’s about as bad in every metric as Chas has been at the plate this year… (just to double the sting!) But he’s got experience, which makes it “seem” like he’s got the position down (minus the lazy plays). Also Altuve also has been pretty god awful defensively compared to previous years. This is all based on range and outs above average.
Yeah but this theory that a “ton” of balls are getting by him that don’t get by others is a stretch. Do the math.
We know he’s not scared of the bright lights either. I’m more comfortable with him out there in the playoffs than Scott.
The pro Philly Fox announcers are annoying. Why don't they just run on the field and kiss the Philly players! Also, I forgot how much I dislike the Philly players.
He had him ready… just in time… I don’t think he was going to pull Blanco barring catastrophe. Even with Nerris as a reinforcement, 18 games in 18 days is still just that… Blanco and all of them getting an extra day allows for a little more. I was just curious to see how he’d do against this lineup regardless (as I will be curious about Spencer’s performance on Wednesday). While this shouldn’t be “fully experimentation” mode, this front office is definitely changing stuff now that they have a cushion…. With rest decisions and putting randos at 1B decisions.
That’s definitely more debatable than him not being a great fifth starter. Although Luis Castillo might be their worst starter.
