I think a 6th or a 7th is what Metchie would pull. He is unproven.

2nd rd/better or a starting linebacker to help solidify the 53 man.

There's no need to get rid of Metchie when he could be the significantly cheaper replacement (albeit not on the level of Diggs) next year.

His potential value to this team far outweighs any compensation you could get for him in a trade. He will be very valuable to the team next year, as others have said.

No way you trade him, in my opinion. He's just getting started. It's way too soon to give up on him.

I'd honestly rather trade Hutchinson, and I like both guys.

‘I am in this camp, unless a team is stupid and will part ways with a first for Metch which isn’t going to happen….

John's not going anywhere...and it wasn't a valid debate earlier in the preseason. This is one helluva story, as he comes all the way back.

That’s a friend of the franchise qb. Doubt he goes anywhere

Metchie is improving physically! Once Diggs is gone you will need a number 3. Can’t depend on Noah Brown to stay healthy either.

You're certain Diggs is gone? With Texans culture and playing with an elite qb I think he might stay.

You think they'll want to resign Stingley?

I think they do want to sign him...so I think Diggs is gone, especially since they resigned Nico. They have CJ, Tank, Anderson, and Tunsil looming behind.

    Huge factor imo!

This franchise won’t risk pissing off its second franchise QB or it will completely lose the fan base.

The Texans got strike 1 from the BOB situation. They are infatuated with Meco/CJ. It would be strike 2 and 3 if they got indifferent with Stroud.

I will say though, Nick has clearly shown a willingness to pick who CJ wants. So Metchie is a lock

He might. Will the Texans be willing to pay top money to a north of 30 receiver who is trending towards a WR3 role? Doubt it.

I'd like to keep Metchie, but if a team offered a 2nd rounder in next year's very deep draft it's a no-brainer.

If the Texans traded Metchie, I'd like to see the Texans receive a LB or CB in return. I don't think there's a trade out there for a late draft pick that would be worth trading Metchie for. Metchie is the fifth or sixth best WR on the team which means he won't have much playing time this year. I actually would prefer to keep Sims over Metchie just because of what Sims brings as a kick returner on special teams. If the Texans received a CB or LB in return they would receive a player that would receive a lot of playing time this year at a position that the Texans lack quality depth.

Probably a 4th or 5th....which means it's not worth trading him

I think Brown being cut locks up Metchie and Woods as 4 and 5.

With the injuries last year, would love to have Woods in my back pocket and dress Metchie to work on his further development.

Metchie will have his chance this year to start. Hate to say it, but health is still a concern for Tank and Nico. Hope all of them stay healthy, but it's good to have some insurance.

When Metchie was at Alabama, he had all world potential. He was on route to being a top 10 draft pick. But then the injuries happened, and he slid in the draft into the 2nd round.

He’s had some bad luck health-wise; who knows if he will ever get back to that level of player he used to be. But I think the Texans see sparks of the all-world talent he displayed back at Alabama. I think the Texans are betting that there is still an all-pro potential with him!

I would love to see him step into the 2nd or third option but we need to see more, Tank digressing is a bit disturbing as he was lights out last year, the dude just had a twitch and it doesn't seem to be the same Tank..................maybe it's because CJ has to have his head on a swivel and simply can't get all the check downs before he is pummeled

I hope Metchie continues to get better
