Yea, not ready to give up on this kid, he even admitted he had a ton of work to do in the off season and he has a great attitude, let's see how this plays out
I know it's only preseason, and Pierce only carried the ball 8 times, but still, I don't get keeping him on our team with others who have showed more promise. I mean he only averaged 2.9 yards per carry last year. What is it?
It's time. We all know the position is rough on the body and players don't last long. Find a good partner where it works for both sides and wish him well as we move forward. Preseason has pretty much shown that Akers and Ogunbowale feel more like RB 2A/B along with sprinkles of the rookies (Jordan, Brooks) when not playing special teams.
Sounds like a man who knows what everyone is thinking and is tired of answering that question. Didn't look good that DeMeco didnt have his usual enthusiastic response, and his face said it all. Might be best to trade DP to a team that can use him in their scheme...no one in division.
I can't for the life of me figure out why they didn't trade Pierce earlier. They should have traded him the second they went to the new scheme. He's clearly a downhill runner that simply isn't a good fit for a role that calls for patient and shifty. They will still likely get something for him, but they could have probably gotten a 3 or 2 if they traded him last off-season.
This doesn't sound good for Pierce at all staying with the Texans - His response was almost like I've seen enough. There's other players I need to see.
