    Love the Powell pick.

Most likely this guy will make it to MLB.

His zero percent walk rate, 38% K rate, and 538 BABIP tells me he is going to regress very hard

I like the "more total bases than K's" stat

Kenni Gomez hit his first homer with Asheville tonight; he now has 7 on the season.

No - but can perform well for a longer period of time if that is what the player development people want to see.

I think when they call him up - they want to call him up for good.

Hopefully they don’t get greedy and try to make him into a starter again this winter.

He's an avg MLB OF. Something this team is badly missing.

    No need to be condescending.

I think he's got the ability to eventually become Pressly's replacement. Right now I dont trust him at all. I've thought about this and I think there's a 50/50 chance they try to make him a starter again. It would be a mistake to put the org through that again. IMHO

I’m a nut. Roll the dice on starter. So much more valuable than reliever. Give him a year in the bullpen in the bigs- if he’s really good try to make him a starter after the 25 season. If he’s merely playable keep him in the bullpen.

Bryce Mayer made his pro debut for Fayetteville today and he walked two and struck out one in a scoreless 1st inning.

Mayer was the Astros' 16th-round pick out of Missouri in this year's draft.

I think you have lost the train of this conversation. This conversation is about Caden Powell. He is not an average MLB outfielder. He is a 6th round pick in his first venture into the minor leagues, While his base numbers look very encouraging, I simply pointed out that his underlying numbers show some serious problems.

In retrospect, my comment does sound condescending. However, it was not intended to be

I get what Powell's numbers say, but he's got a good chance to make it to MLB, whether that be a starter or bench player. Coming from a small school it's understandable that he would struggle.

No worries about the condescending thingy. I come off that way sometimes, but know I enjoy talking ball with you.
