The irony of Trump and Kennedy wanting to Make America Healthy Again is not lost on me.... I've lost 60-65 lbs in the last 5 months and then put on about 10 lbs of solid lean muscle. My body fat percentage may be the lowest it's ever been in my life - likely is. I'm in some of the best shape of my life at 37. How did I do it? By facing my mental health head on, which meant I started to acknowledge and address my ADHD and anxiety issues. This in turn helped me with sticking to a routine and not giving in to cravings, etc. I think most overweight and unhealthy Americans need to address these issues. I think obesity is largely a mental health issue, as are many of the other "health" problems in America. The irony is these two dudes would both make any psychiatrist salivate as case studies for reasons that would max the character limit of this post.

I’m pretty sure Trump is cringing at the thought of having to explain how his campaign somehow now cares about health. Even he’s got the sense to know his policy is literally about destroying every public health support system that there is. Starting with the affordable care act. The fact is you can’t really get healthy unless you have access to regular healthcare with good insurance. It takes more than just listening to Joe Rogan or watching YouTube videos. You actually need to have blood work done to know what’s happening inside your body, which organs are functioning correctly, getting ultrasounds done, getting endoscopy and colonoscopy’s done etc etc. It’s like trying to diagnose a car that’s broken down while the hood is welded shut. That is essentially MAGA health 101. I guess some idiots on the Joe Rogan train will fall for it though because if you are dumb enough to not trust doctors but trust you tubers like that quack Dr Berg or especially RFK jr. then you are probably dumb enough to think that Trump 2025 has some magical answer to health.
Yeah your mental health for sure can play a big part in it. Especially folks dealing with even low levels of depression and anxiety. For me though I had really destroyed by body in my 30’s just by drinking too much booze and eating too much fried food/high fructose corn syrup. Where I got things turned around lately is actually going the doctor and receiving some hard truths through blood work and exams. I had to get my gallbladder taken out and that was really a big wake up call. If I didn’t have health insurance I really don’t know where I’d be. Probably turning to YouTube grifters to get insights and trying to treat myself with snake oil and end up worse off and more frustrated which probably would lead to more drinking. Kamala Harris’ campaign could probably use the RFK opportunity to remind people that A. It’s difficult to get healthy without health insurance B. Donald Trump is hell bent on destroying health care for sake of billionaire profits C. Harris has consistently been committed to expanding health insurance via ACA and offering further expansion proposals via Medicare.

The song is literally about a young guy looking up to a big brother figure who the kid worships and then he’s just gone and out of his life leaving him feeling abandoned. I couldn’t make it past 3 minutes of that because of the firehouse of spin that Dan Crenshaw spews out there so fast that nobody can take the time to counter and fact check. I mean Republicans are really good at this though.
