People make way too much out of "mechanical changes" coinciding with a change in performance. These guys are making these changes all the time and shouldn't be used, in a conditional probability sense, as information that is all that salient of an improvement in underlying skill. That being said, I hope Loperfido makes it work.

Didn't JD Martinez make "mechanical changes" to his swing?

Loperfido is a very likeable guy. I wish him all the luck except when playing the Astros.

As long as Kikuchi does what they brought him in for nothing else really matters.

But it would be really nice if prospects the Astros trade away start becoming good MLB players, so Dana Brown can get more trades done in the future.

Every time the Astros "win" a trade, other organizations are going to think less and less of Astros prospects.

He re-tooled his whole swing over the winter. Luhnow didn't give him a chance to show it off before he cut him in ST.

The crazy thing is, Joey may end up being the third best piece we gave them.

I think this is a really fine attitude, my mang. In this case, all three dudes are really likeable, so why stop rooting for them?

    Answer:

Since the one and only criteria by which the trade can ever be judged is "Contribute to Ring? Y/N",

And since their success can potentially soften future GM's - at least subconsciously - to wheel and deal with us in the future,

There is absolutely no reason to stop rooting for them!

    I really like it. Clean.

But it couuuuuuld potentially on a subconscious level!

A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.

Side note: I used to abso-****ing-lutely HAAAAAAATE Mary Poppins growing up. After watching it again for the first time in decades this summer, I realized that I had let my rage against anything that I could convince myself resembled an authority blind me from it's truly beautiful, spiritual message.

Belief is the death of intelligence because it precludes you from occupying another idea. Change your mind. Then, you can see that's not the same as you changing - you can't. The storyteller doesn't change, She changes the story.

If they win a championship then it's worth it.

Just remember Click is very good at his job.

    I'm a believer in FAITH.

Fortunately I've never seen the movie. Give us a movie critique.

Well aware of this. Letting him go for Biggio's buddy Dana Brown was probably the worst decision Crane has made, and he's made a ton of bad ones.

VanVleet doesn't belong in this list. Tracy got big when he joined Orlando. Hockey exists.
