At age 12, not 9, she moved to Canada. Prior to this, her single-mother family had lived somewhat nomadically, eventually settling in California for a 6-year stretch in a duplex. The move to Canada, like previous moves, was prompted by her mother's job. During college, Harris worked at McDonald's to support herself. These circumstances - a single mother relocating with two children for work, and Harris holding a fast-food job while pursuing higher education - paint a picture of a working-class family background. She mentioned that they moved around in her speech.
Donald Trump's Vietnam was avoiding STDs in the 80s. The dude you replied to is a RFK nob slobler. And he's arguing about Harris being too Bougie is just a new low in a lack of self awareness.
Boy, I have to disagree with you on this one, my trump acquaintances are so obnoxious with their merch and flags and calling all Dems commies and such, they have a true, "you're with us or against us" and if you aren't with them you become the ENEMY....a real enemy, not some enemy in a political sense but a real threat to their way of life. Even if you look at the rhetoric at the DNC VS the RNC, the Dems were about unity and hooe and our gop friends were all about grievances and the communist left A lot is just political theatre but I have some EX Friends who are REALLY maga and I think they would take to the streets with their ak-47 if **** got sideways Some good moderate conservative gop members get unfairly lumped in with maga and some have even left the party and 100% you have some radical folks on the left but I dont hear much from them like maga.......................maga used to be a niche but IMO they are now the majority and not sure they will ever come back Hell, my parents are trump backers and there the nicest folks you would ever meet but if I am being 100% they each have a tad of racism in them, they would deny that but they are
Where? Does anybody here actually live in/around Houston? Lol I was in PHX in 2016-2017, I was surprised to see people wear maga stuff like it was normal. That was unacceptable in Houston, unless you went to Conroe or Magnolia etc.
Nah bro, thats how it was, almost nobody that voted for Trump back then said that publicly, they've just kept quiet n went out to vote.
Trump voters are the most vocal about their politics in non political casual conversations. They usually are he first to bring it up in real life conversations in the work place, dinner table, school setting etc. They also love political paraphernalia. Again you see more Trump paraphernalia than Biden/Harris paraphernalia in Massachusetts, a liberal stronghold.
I'm in a deep red part of DFW, and in 2020 I had multiple Biden signs stolen out of my front yard. Before that it was Beto signs. I see people on the local Facebook page every day being rude and disrespectful to anything and everything liberal. Don't try and say that Republicans are more tolerant...that's just utter nonsense.
Believing that Donald Trump will win in November is a reasonable opinion. I still think Trump is the favorite. Believing that beating Biden in 2024 is harder than beating Harris is crazy. Biden was dead in the water - Harris is not.
There are a lot of places in this country, especially rural areas, where having a Harris / Walz sticker on a car is an invitation to be keyed.
Not back then, it was like taboo to say anything positive about Trump in Houston. Right now you can hear it more like its alright. @D I guess you're in a minority up there, different experiences.
No I just think you suffer from a victim complex. Maga supporters are very extraverted and love "triggering" people. Why do you think the lifted Dodge Ram is the official MAGA vehicle? You think those people are shy?
I don't think Trump is the favorite right now. I would say Harris likely has a narrow lead but Trump victory is very possible. I doubt RFK dropping out and endorsing Trump changes that but a lot of other stuff can change.
You can tell the people behind him think he's a scumbag. But they have no shame and need access to power.
Bro in 2016 I was like "anybody but Trump", thats why I couldn't believe he actually won, because nobody around me ever said they were gonna vote for him. All you could hear was something negative. I'm telling you how it was in Houston n ur assuming stuff about some victim crap. Come on now.
Stop the persecution complex. No one was afraid to express being a maga idiot. It's part of their very nature to be vocal about their politics and "trigger" liberals. They relish in that stuff.
Cool I live in Albany. Go through that area on my way to ogunquit a few times a year. Our getaway cabin is up there.
I can believe inside the Loop you're not going to see a lot of Trump stickers (not none) travel about 20 miles north or east and it will change. It's the same here in Minneapolis but just in one of the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities is this.
