So what's the deal with Montero? I imagine they want to bring him back up at some point if he gets his act together.

Many were happy we didn't resign Neris. Now were happy to sign him again. I'm confused.

Might have something to do with him being nine million dollars cheaper now.

The Astros are paying him the pro-rated league minimum and not $9M.

With the Astros in need of bullpen depth it doesn’t hurt to take a flyer.

Oh, I agree. Just noting the wind direction change with a hint of sarcasm.

I would characterize it more as being on a different planet with different winds than a wind change.

How many times has Will Harris blown games in the playoffs 2015 vs Royals and blown the World Series against the Nationals Howie Kendrick Home Run after pulling Zack Greinke, that was AJ Hinch fault not putting in Gerrit Cole in relief.

Martin Maldonado and Dusty Baker on a boat fishing in California. Both retired.

Forrest Whitley still getting used to being a Relief Pitcher. Needs some inning work, maybe gets called up in September.

I think with all the Arm injuries he's had, of course he's been frustrated by himself and coaches wanting him to change. I really hope he figures it out. His velocity is 99 mph, he is a weapon.

They need to harness his confidence. If he comes to Houston and get smacked around, I think that will ruin all the good things he’s done this season. He’s a real option as a September call up, but I would continue to work with him to make sure he’s making concrete strides.

I am stoked that Whitley is finally looking like an elite pitcher in the last dozen plus outings.

I couldn't agree more with your first sentence. This squad has quite a few young players, and I hope that mixing in a battle tested fiery bully arm will give them some swagger and, imo, needed confidence. I shudder at the thought of Ort or Ferguson being forced into a leverage situation in the playoffs.

Maldonado has a place in baseball, It's just not as a player. It's teaching/coaching/scouting.
