And Paredes has a .510 OPS with the Cubs. I would've been in favor of the Astros landing either player - especially Paredes - but we may have dodged a bullet?
Every year this happens. There are multiple people we are so upset about not getting, and most of them are average to below. Of course, some work out well, but it is a much lower % than it seems during the "grass is greener" days running up to the deadline.
Sure, and other times it is a bad thing. See: Gomez, Fiers Or Arozarena, Turner (as I was responding to). I am all for trying to upgrade the roster. But neither fans nor even front offices are particularly good at predicting who will be an upgrade and who will not.
Fiers did help them win a WS. I would say more times than not things workout in the trading teams favor. I would say Click did an exceptional job and Brown did a good job, but should've added a bat. Where would this team be without Kikuchi?
