Yeah, anyway, let me tell @FishBulb913 how these things actually work Unlike online degree programs targeted at foreign students, JD Vance made it into YLS because they - and other elite law schools - don't want the entire Law School class to be entirely Wall Street/BigLaw children who went to Andover/Ivy etc. These classes are hand curated. This is not a secret, btw, this is something they openly brag about on their website. So, they pick some people from Ohio State or the military or first generation college students. Though, ironically, they now invented a category for "first generation professionals" - I see, which means for the 2026 class, an astounding 69% (nice) of the students are the children of doctors or lawyers. That's nuts, lol. But anyway, back to JD Vance and YLS - he was clearly a diversity pick, in other words. When Yale posted their class stats for his year, they doubtless included him as part of hteir proud tally of veterans and first generation college students. He boosted their stats. And I say this without an ounce of snark, there ain't nothing wrong with that and nothing for JD Vance to be ashamed of. In fact it's the least wrong thing about JD Vance. It's almost everything he's done in public life since he left Yale that he should be (and maybe even is?) ashamed of. Anyway, doesn't really matter because he's getting absolutely waxed by Walz and is not very good at politics so far. So, not really going to waste too much more time pointing out his hypocrisy more so than his ultra weak saucitude on the campaign trail. That's the problem with letting gusy like Peter Thiel choose your candidates. No good at it.
