Meh, there's never a happy median. We either get completely shat on or get ALL the praise until we fall back down to Earth and quickly fade into obscurity once more.

If we meet expectations (an AFC Championship game, at the very least) I believe we will remain on this hype train with the national media... oh and CJ stays away from all the local ass masseuses'.

I won't be surprise....especially if he wins MVP and a Superbowl. I mean, it won't be that exaggerated, but it'll be close lol

They might need a separate cap for qbs. By the time CJ is up for a deal those numbers will be insane.

    Stroud/Texans in the house !!!

We will soon witness how the Texans handle high expectations. I'm confident we will ball. The roster looks great, and Demeco seems a good/great coach.

    Let's see....

4th read in 3.2 seconds..... throws with anticipation layered over the top of the LB's. This is Aaron Rodgers, Brady, Manning level scanning. It's super elite.

Incredible play by Caleb, but again... he is on his 1st read for 3 seconds. There are LEVELS to this game.

Caleb looks absolutely amazing in preseason. The way he is so shifty in the pocket and scrambles out is impressive. But these are the details (locking in on the 1st read) he'll have to overcome. He has the tools though and will be so exciting to watch. How are Panthers fans feeling right now? Ouch. lol

Caleb is extremely fun to watch I must admit. I just don't know if his style of play will lead to wins. Teams will make adjustments probably by playing some form of zone blitzing scheme. He reminds me more of Kyler than Mahomes. Mahomes can pick a defense apart. I also am one of the few who think Mahomes is slightly enhanced due the Reid scheme. Great player none the less. I have always preferred the pocket passers.

Caleb is smarter and much more dedicated to football than Kyler. Not close to him in either category other than the ability to improvise.

Obviously I'm not saying he'll be Mahomes but I think he'll end up closer to Mahomes than Kyler. Bears got a good one.

    Hard to say.

Kyler was a pretty good QB in 2020-2022 before injuries. Consecutive Pro Bowls.

I'm not ready to put Caleb Williams as closer to being an All Pro than Pro Bowler considering his tape shows spotty footwork and slow to go through reads.

The NFL will design a way to slow down his free lancing, and make him play from the pocket in his 6' frame.

Flashy play doesn't necessarily win games.

As a fan I really don't know how to handle all of this before the season praise, hype, excitement, and expectations. I am really trying to stay down...the schedule is really hard (both the opponents and the dates - see Christmas week), sophomore slumps can be a real thing, and health is always a wildcard (and this franchise has had terrible injury luck).

Nevertheless, this is the most excited I have been for a Texans season since 2012.

CJ is a team player, he knows that if he gets too much money your going to hurt other areas of the team. He'll be paid but maybe not as much as they are predicting, somewhere in the TOP 3.
