The title says it all. What is our most likely outcome (not potential max) if everything goes right? By everything, I think about:

    - Green performs more consistently with better shooting
    - Sengun improves some on ft% and 3pt%
    - Reed makes a measurable impact
    - Tari is healthy
    - Jabari is stronger, better on defense, and improves on the 3pt%
    - Amen better on offense
    - fvv and brooks are similar to last year, no injuries. Adams healthy as well.
    - We get some unexpected contribution from one of the other guys

I think conference semi finals look reasonable. The inexperience will eventually show at that level. Though with a little luck, we can make the finals. A deep young team with this much energy and talent can do anything if things go right.

If everything goes right, including things that are VERY unlikely, the Rockets win 60 games and sweep the finals.

If everything goes right it will be two years early of the Rockets / Celtics renewed Finals edition 1986

If they can stay fairly healthy from both units then I can see them upsetting someone in first round and getting bounced in 2nd round seven game series.... Setting up a Texans type feel for following season, and then going on a serious run with their two first picks of rebuild set with Extensions$$$ for next 3-5 yrs

    Define “if everything goes right”.

For example, everything went wrong with Suns last year. Why shouldn’t they expect ‘karma payback’.

For example, everything went right for Lakes with health of LBJ & AD. But…

“if everything goes right” is never going to happen anyway. I’ve had enough what-if season memories in the past two decades.

Let's say there is reasonable improvements up and down the roster, better chemistry, more comfortability with the coaching staff. Maybe one player makes a really big leap. I would say 50ish wins, 6th seed territory.

I think their youth and inexperience will keep them from advancing past the second round of the playoffs.

This can easily get thrown out the window with injuries, trades, etc.

Ha ha! Totally forgot about him. That's how deep the roster is :)

I am not expecting much of an improvement from Cam. If he can improve on the decision making and make the correct passes that would be a good improvement.

If all those guys step up as you’re hoping—Green finding his rhythm, Sengun improving his shooting, Reed making an impact, Tari staying healthy, Jabari getting stronger, Amen getting better on offense, and FVV and Brooks staying solid—we could realistically make it to the conference semis. The youth might show in those high-pressure moments, but who knows? With some luck and a bit of surprise from the bench, the finals could be within reach. This team’s got a lot of energy and talent, so anything’s possible if everything clicks.

I defined in the first post. Every player makes some sort of improvement and everybody stays healthy. You can add reasonable improvement as a team as well.

Lot of room to improve his 3pt shooting … up from 35.9%

I don't know that there has ever been a team where everything goes right, so I will say if it goes mostly right, we grab the 7 or 8 seed, win and advance to the REAL playoffs.

Winning a playoff series would be a tremendous success. Anything beyond that is gravy.

The good news is that there are no scary teams out there. We don't match up with Minnesota very well, but there are a lot of teams we should start having the advantage on in matchups. I think it's a favorable environment for the Rockets to hit the top of the bell curve in the coming years.

In my very (un)scientific analysis "...everything goes right" includes trading Jalen for Devin Booker, being both top 10 in defense and offense for the season, and we make it to the Finals on a 60 win season.

The Rockets have a huge range of potential outcomes.

To me, the Rockets have a ton of depth, but may not be able to get all the value out of it. I'm not sure if Amen will be close as productive on offense with either Sengun or Adams in the game. If the main guys (not counting FVV) played about 67 games on average at their rates last year, probably talking about 47 wins worth of value if there weren't fit issues.

If somehow Udoka can get the most out of Amen and Sengun without them taking away opportunities from each other, along with some internal growth, average health for young guys, FVV being FVV, no fit concerns, and a healthy Adams, things breaking right would easily be a 50+ win team.

I just have concerns about fit as a lot of the guys I expect could have much healthier years also aren't the best shooters. We just havn't seen much on how Adams, Amen, Tari. and Sengun work on the court in different combinations. The defense should be great with one of Tari and Amen and one of Sengun and Adams. Offense...not so much.

Yeah, with the extended roster, it will be a challenge for Ime to work out the combinations and get the best team out there. Last year, Udoka did not have many options, so in that sense it was easier for him. We'll see how he performs better this year.

He could have just learned what players he needed from last year and added them during offseason. You know, plugged up all the holes in the team.

I think having better players and healthier players will be easier to win games even if players don't fit well. I don't think he will complain.
