Fun game. Really looking forward to Bregman and Tuckers return. Line up would look a lot better with those two back in .

    Altuve
    Bregman
    Alvarez
    Tucker
    Diaz
    Pena
    Caratini
    Meyers
    Dubon

    or something like that

I still have my Jose Cruz '79 signed souvenier wood bat.

I can nail the hell out of tennis balls with it.

Best records in MLB since Tucker went on IL (June 4):
    41-22 Astros
    42-24 Dbacks
    39-24 Padres
    40-25 Mets

If you project Tucker's WAR over that time, the Astros would be a scorching hot 44-19 over that span.

That's the exact lineup I came up with for the playoffs. In that order. That's a World Series winning lineup.

Cruz was so fun to watch. Definitely one of my favorites of all time.

Others I enjoyed watching Sambito (silky smooth), Andujar, JR Richard of course.

Another was Frank LaCorte, that dude had the most wicked 12 to 6 curveball.

I got tickets for Wednesday's game quite a while ago. I'm driving up from Austin on Wednesday with 3 of my senior softball buddies. With the return of Verlander for Wednesday, I told them to expect a "Cy Young Surcharge" when they pay me for the tickets. :);)

I’m not the world’s biggest Simgleton fan or any thing but he should play 1B over Dubon against RHP probably. Dubon against LHP. Caratini needs his bat in the lineup v well comers.

I don't recall Morgan coming back to the Astros in 1980. I remember him well before we traded him away to the Reds. I also have his rookie card when the Astros used to be the Colt 45's. Him and Sonny Jackson on the same card. No telling what it is worth now.

Cedeno could have been even greater in his prime. That incident in the hotel room where a young woman was killed by accidental gunfire. He was only 22 at the time. He was never quite the same after that. But still I would take him hands down over anyone we have had in CF since,

Man, what a game........we absolutely sucked with 5 errors, anemic offense from the outfield but we WIN and pick up a game on the Mariners, were reaping some of that mojo that we didn't have in the first half. Now, I love Jake Meyers, he is a Husker and I am a Husker fan but come on man, he cannot hit, hell of a glove but my man needs to be sitting on the bench, the problem is no one in the OF (other than Yordan) is doing anything.

Hell of a win, did Yordan say something to Diaz as he was going up to bat?

The key takeaway, Yordan needs to talk to every batter in the bottom half of the lineup.

astros haven't had a double digits gms win streak since 2022 but i'm also fine with them going something stupid like 18-2.

Yordan, Tuve, Bregman, Diaz, Tucker, Pena....

That is a pretty nasty front 6.

We just need one of, Jake, Chas, Duby, Singleton, Whitcomb to get hot in the month of October.

If that happens, the Astros are in great shape to get a 3rd ship.

Would be nice if we had a healthy Uncle Mike on this team to give us better AB's near the bottom of the lineup.

**** it, put Berkman in Center.

On second thought. Give me Springer in CF, Berkman in LF, and Tucker in RF.

I'd consider Hidalgo or Pence, but hard to argue them over Tuck.

I'd also probably rather have Breggers at 3B.

I hate not having Alou out there, but gotta have Berkman, just for his plate discipline alone, but he was such a good, consistent hitter. Alou was a beast when he was here though.
