If you are asking me to say that I was wrong about her not having any interactions with Mexico - I was wrong and will admit that. However - that does not change the fact that she had no authority over the US/Mexican border - none. “The President has asked Secretary Mayorkas to address what is going on at the border, and he has been working very hard and is showing some progress because of his hard work. I have been asked to lead the issue of addressing the root causes,” she said in response to a reporter’s question. She added that those causes “are not issues that are going to be addressed overnight.” This is a verbatim quote from Kamala Harris to the press over three years ago when she was asked to clarify her role. She spells out exactly what her responsibilities were: "I have been asked to lead the issue if addressing the root causes, and (those) are not issues that are going to be addressed overnight." - Kamala Harris She even goes FURTHER and says what she is NOT being asked to do - "The President has asked Secretary Mayorkas to address what is going on at the border." I really don't know what else you want - you can attempt to go on a tangent but the facts are clear. Kamala Harris was asked to work on figuring out the root causes of immigration issues at the US border. She further said that it isn't something that will have instant results - she had full authority for that and she did that. She had zero to do with "what is going on at the border" - she said that AND she said who was responsible. So any claim that she is responsible for the policy at the border is bullshit - it is a lie, which has become the specialty of politics the last 10 years. Make some vague relationship to something and then argue in circles that it is true when it is objectively false. If someone wants to rip or praise Harris for the border, they are wasting their time - because she had nothing to do with border policy. NOTHING. Just like Donald Trump had nothing to do with COVID entering the USA.
That was all I was asking. Up to this moment, you insisted you were not wrong at all. All I was saying repeatedly was that Mexico was included in her task. And that is relevant, since that's the country with the actual border with the US. As I said, she wasn't going to patrol the border with a gun in hand and oversee building of fences with a hard hat on. And clearly, the appointment she got didn't mean she was fully and solely in charge of Homeland Security all of a sudden. But clearly, she was given elevated political responsibility for curbing illegal immigration - in Biden's and her own remarks, they both talk BOTH about diplomatic efforts and "law enforcement", specifically citing her background there. And they speak of "working with Mexico and having a full team at home to deal with the issue". She was given elevated political responsibility, and the outcome is terrible.
His direct message has been quoted many times. When you see a few misleading Xweets and then beleive you're an expert, it's likely that you will be wrong.
She was given elevated responsibility on researching and addressing the underlying cause of immigration issues at the US border. She had no elevated position when it came to border policy, policing the border - how the border was policed and who was or wasn't let in. So - she had no material heightened involvement. That is like claiming someone that is looking into what causes crime - is responsible for crime increases. I have no idea how good Harris will be when it pertains to the US border if she wins election. I suspect she will be harder than Biden and harder than a lot of people suspect, based on her background as a prosecutor and because she tends to go where the wind blows - and Americans want more border control and immigration reform. I could be completely wrong though, she could turn out to be a disaster - I just know she has had no control over the US border thus far.
It would actually be more worrying if she talks like she talks and isn't drunk. Because she makes very little sense, waves her arms around aimlessly, slurs her speech...if she were drunk, at least she'd have had some fun, and she'd have some sort of an excuse.
I don't know my medications very well, but it seems like she is on some high dose slow release adderall and the liquor sends her into wack wack mode.
If she had no control, then Biden had no control? I thought President and Vice President are a team? And he put her in charge. Biden: "In addition to that, there’s about five other major things she’s handling, but I’ve asked her, the VP, today — because she’s the most qualified person to do it — to lead our efforts with Mexico and the Northern Triangle and the countries that help — are going to need help in stemming the movement of so many folks, stemming the migration to our southern border." "So it’s not her full responsibility and job, but she’s leading the effort because I think the best thing to do is to put someone who, when he or she speaks, they don’t have to wonder about is that where the President is. When she speaks, she speaks for me. Doesn’t have to check with me. She knows what she’s doing, and I hope we can move this along. " Harris: "Well, thank you, Mr. President and for having the confidence in me. And there’s no question that this is a challenging situation. As the President has said, there are many factors that lead precedent to leave these countries. And while we are clear that people should not come to the border now, we also understand that we will enforce the law and that we also — because we can chew gum and walk at the same time — must address the root causes that — that cause people to make the trek, as the President has described, to come here. And I look forward to engaging in diplomacy with government, with private sector, with civil society, and — and the leaders of each in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to strengthen democracy and the rule of law, and ensure shared prosperity in the region. We will collaborate with Mexico and other countries throughout the Western hemisphere. And as part of this effort, we expect that we will have collaborative relationships to accomplish the goals the President has and that we share. I also look forward to working with members of the Congress who, I think, share our perspective on the need to address root causes for the migration that we’ve been seeing. And needless to say, the work will not be easy, but it is important work. It is work that we demand — and the people of our countries, I believe, need — to help stem the tide that we have seen. --------- Clearly, her task was not just to "talk to some leaders in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras". She herself spoke about being involved in overseeing that the law will be enforced and working with members of Congress. Biden's explicit task for her was: "stemming the migration to our southern border". Was it vague? Yes. Was it just a special foreign affairs envoy task? No. She was the top political figure tasked with reducing illegal immigration.
Her job was to address the root causes. She did this by talking with private businesses about more investments as well as the nations involved. I already posted the information earlier on these boards showing the after her talks with the nations involved and with the private firms, foreign investment did increase for those nations. One of the ways to help stem migration to the southern border is to help provide a more robust economy in their home nation. That was what she was in charge of and it is fine to attack her efforts in that area. She was at least partly successful in getting more investments from outside investors.
I'm confused - wasn't Secretary Mayorkas the administrator that Republicans impeached for not fixing the border crisis? Now we find out he wasn't responsible, it was Kamala? Is it too late to reverse his impeachment and impeach Kamala instead?
Your own quote states it was a diplomatic mission. And she was wildly successful - raising $5 billion from private industry to invest in these countries and working towards stabilizing them so people don't have the incentive to leave. That was her task. It actually had nothing to do with the actual border.
Probably a little column a and little column b..... These folks are weird with their algorithmic trans and homoerotic fixations.
I think constantly posting tweets about homosexuals, transsexuals, and pedophilia is projection.... or the very least weird. I just don't get social conservatives and all the hate they have.
