Trump, incapable of learning anything new, is still claiming that tariffs are a tax on foreign countries. He plans to impose an across-the-board 10% tariff on everything, with an increase to 60% on imports from China. While there are valid reasons for the strategic use of tariffs (national security, unfair trade practices, etc.), what Trump is proposing is absurd. I'm starting to believe he genuinely thinks it’s a tax on foreign countries. Here are several studies on the costs to American households due to Trump's tariffs from a few years ago.
“When Trump was here, he killed over 275,000 Pennsylvania jobs. He shipped jobs overseas. He presided over factory closings. He was the most anti-labor president in recent memory,” Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti said at an event Friday. “(Trump’s) administration did just about everything they could to help big corporations rip off workers. Instead of giving working families a leg up, he handed out massive tax cuts to the rich and stuck the rest of us with the bill.” https://www.times-news.com/news/tru...cle_a0a63235-f582-5702-a1cd-8c36b0b36869.html
Deporting millions as well. BTW, for those constantly asking for details, has anyone bothered to seek specifics on how Trump plans to deport tens of millions of illegal immigrants? All we know is that he will likely use the military.
Wow so I was talking to my trucker buddies the other day. Resoundingly they are all supporting Kamala. "That overpoofed Cheeto thinks he can subvert our democracy and get away with it? Not on my watch!" one said. "And don't get me started on Vance. Eyeliner? Couch ****ing? That's just so...weird!" The others nodded their heads in agreement. I've been getting the same vibes from most of the folks I talk to.
One thing I've never seen a Trump supporter here really try to address: Why do so many people who worked in the Trump Whitehouse have negative things to say about his leadership? That is truly unprecedented, as far as I'm aware. It's like a cottage industry at this point. Sorry if already posted. Another person who worked in the Trump Whitehouse with not positive things to say. And this guy, a huge Obama critic, was largely in Trump's corner, in terms of foreign policy, praising Trump's "disruptive" qualities. But sheesh, read on. Former Trump National SecuirtyAdvisor McMaster shares experiences. excerpts: "everything ... was much harder than it needed to be." (on the M.O. of Trump's inner circle): "I describe the environment as an environment of competitive sycophancy... The president wanted advice; he also wanted flattery. He really likes the adulation. In many ways he's kind of addicted to adulation from his political base, from people around him." That sounds healthy for the US of A! "President Trump sees in authoritarian leaders the qualities that he wants other people to see in him." SMDH.
