I missed Spaghetti serving up meatballs tonight, glad I didn't have to witness it. Onto tomorrow, hope for a more productive offense.
Mariners and Arlington still lost... such an opportunity missed. I have lost faith in Chas this past week.
Chas has been a massive problem. If only he could play like he did a year ago. It's hard to believe he's the same guy!
I hear you... except, if only he could play league-average hitter. Chas is 130 OPS points below league-average.
Spaghetti will get it right, but those misplays in the first inning was a killer. This is White Sox's World Series meaning they are playing in front of a big home crowd and in a series they have no business to be in. The White Sox plays with no pressure and the new manager who is a player's manager, pretty much any win this year is a bonus. This is a good win, the SP Grochet will be sought-after this offseason if the White Sox wants to implode. Astros batters struck out 16 times out of 27 outs and we still lose only by 1 run is pretty remarkable. And Mariners and Rangers lose.
Houston is without 2 of their top 4 hitters who comprise ~70% of their total run production. They went up against a guy pitching like a legit ace this season, and a guy with an mvp caliber season on his resume hit 2 HR against them. Houston was pitching their 5th SP. Sox are terrible but Crochet and Robert Jr are badass and that’s who beat them. Not sure why any team pitches to Robert since he is the only real threat in that lineup.
Observations from last nights crappy game: 1. Game felt like and was managed like a Spring Training game. 2. No more Dezsenzo at first base ever. Big Jon is our FB. .Quit tinkering with position. 3. No more Alvarez batting second in lineup. He is clearly uncomfortable there. 4. Newly repainted batters eye in CF was no help. Sixteen strikeouts? 5. Tucker your sore leg has had long enough to heal. Grow a pair and get yourself back in the lineup.
All great points (except Roberts wasn't doing **** this season) Fortunately, the Astros are 3 games ahead in the division and should be heathier within a week (Bregs, JV) and even more so in 3 weeks (Tucker). If those THREE players are healthy before season's end, Astros will be the Vegas favorites to win the World Series --- if not, this season will be chalked up as a team that couldn't overcome 10 injuries --- most teams can't overcome all of that. Astros are still in good position. May the heavens allow wins the next two games, and better health beyond. There's a tough road after the Sox.
I'm beginning to thing that a dark ghost enters at least one of the Astros at all times. J.Abreu was possessed by it, and once gone it escaped to Chas. If we rid ourselves of him then it may find one of our top of the order guys and that's not good. Keep it in Chas, just stop playing him.
if you think Diaz was the only thing missing from that team…you are delusional. How about others hitting at home? Diaz didn’t do squat when he did play.
My 4 day old son is VERY disappointed in his perfect Astros record being tarnished. He now has a. 6667 winning percentage. How the **** are we going to make it as a team with a. 6667 winning percentage, Max?!?!??!?
Have you not seen that gif before? Man, it's a great one. A wee bit morbid but I get a chuckle out of it! Lol.
