Following a leak online, Sony Pictures has opted to officially release the first trailer for “Kraven the Hunter,” its upcoming Sony Marvel Universe film based on the iconic Spider-Man Villain. The movie sees Aaron Taylor-Johnson take on the key role of Kraven, joined by an impressive cast including Russell Crowe as his father, Fred Hechinger as his brother, Ariana DeBose as his love interest, Levi Miller as a younger version of Kraven, and both Christopher Abbott and Alessandro Nivola as the film’s villains. Sony’s first R-rated Marvel film sees Taylor-Johnson as a Russian immigrant named Sergei Kravinoff who goes on a mission to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. The trailer suggests Kraven obtains superhuman strength and reflexes following his being attacked by a lion as a child. The film was reportedly shot entirely on location in the UK and Iceland, and is directed by Oscar nominee J.C. Chandor (“A Most Violent Year”) from a screenplay co-written by Richard Wenk (“The Equalizer”), Matt Holloway, and Art Marcum. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing. Originally slated for January next year, the film is now set to open October 5th. It arrives as “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” game hits stores the same month which also features Kraven as one of the main characters. https://www.darkhorizons.com/first-trailer-sony-marvels-kraven-the-hunter/
