I can tolerate a lot of bullshit and half-truths from the Trumposphere, but calling Trump and Elon "decent, likable people" may be the most insane, pants-on-fire take I've ever heard.

Take credit for **** that has nothing to do with you, make promises you can't keep, and slander your opponent all you want, but you can't gaslight your way out of a lifetime of being a human piece of ****.

    This.

Look, Trump and Musk have spent years knowing and pushing that they are polarizing, and saying and doing things that are not associated with being good and decent people. They both have said in the past that they don't have regrets and essentially it is survival of the fittest.......

History cannot suddenly be rewritten claiming that they are decent and likeable people.

At least Trump must be decent to his family as his children have relationships with him, and his ex-wives do not claim that he is total POS........ but Musk? His own family has said some very nasty things about him, and when he was more humble he even admitted that he struggled with relationships with people he loves.

Musk the greatest personification of greed I have ever seen. This dude had everything, richest man on earth, well liked, and a public reputation of being a brilliant tech mind.

Yet he still wanted even more, so he outed himself as a POS idiot and spends his time slobbering over another POS (who has already embarrassed him in the past) begging for his approval. All the while alienating and antagonizing what should be an EV's biggest market, liberals.

This guy could have spent the rest of his life on cruise control. I can't think of any scenario in which I would go begging if I were already the richest man on earth.

Word on The Street is that there is a 2000 mile southern border which Mexico does not two ***** about who crosses coming in, as long as they got the tourista dinero, comprende? I am 100% sure that between Mexico and, check notes, Venezuela that 5 crisps Benjamins can replace a valid passport.

Always telling to see fake libertarian and "independent-minded thinkers" go full thrall for billionaires.

Ayn Rand would be spinning faster in her roast pit at hell over this simpery if she practiced what she preached.

This is the problem though. She is hiding as a political strategy. It's not going to work. They are looking at poll numbers, many that skew Dem, and saying "okay no tv interviews we are doing good".

So IMO, especially since www.KamalaHarris.com literally has NO POLICY on it, they are looking at issues voters care about and will later post all those policies on the website with many contradicting her voting record in the past and what the Biden admin is currently doing.

That is the real reason why she hasn't had any tv interviews. She has no policy. Her website only has "meet the candidates" and "how to take action". What a joke

Billionaire pushes oil barons to fund Trump campaign in return for wishlist deal

A billionaire energy tycoon is driving the push for Big Oil executives to fund former President Donald Trump's campaign, expecting a windfall in more favorable regulation in return.

Harold Hamm, the 78-year-old founder of Continental Holdings, has emerged as a central figure in cajoling the oil industry to finance Trump’s reelection bid, and in communicating to the ex-president what the oil industry wants to improve its fortunes in a second Trump term.

Hamm has communicated to Trump he wants new oil leases on currently protected federal lands, a relaxation of the Endangered Species Act, and the repeal of several EPA rules, the report stated.

Remember how the Republican party had literally no platform 2016-2023?

Remember how 2008 Obama got a lot of flack for his soaring, fluffy rhetoric with little specifics?

    This isn't a bug. It's a feature.

Prescriptions and governing is a trap. There's no winning by publishing policy. Trump knows this. That's why he does nothing but bullshit and complain the same way Obama did nothing but impersonate a governmental version of Tony Robbins on the campaign trail.

Kamala will avoid taking stances on anything as long as possible because it's smart politics. And it will likely work the same way it did for Obama and for Trump.

I find Musk likable. Much more so than, e.g., Newsom, Walz, Harris.

Both Obama and Trump at least had campaign website with policy positions. Perhaps not super detailed but they were there. I'm sure they got some smart strategy people in the Harris campaign but I think they're messing up here. Because even if you say Obama/Trump didn't have online policies, they didn't hide from reporters either.

Hillary Clinton released untold reams of policy proposals in 2016. She could talk about the minutiae of policy and was often criticized for being technocratic. She lost to a man who hit on 19 while yelling "Lock her up!" and "Build that wall!"

Voters don't want detailed policies. Harris is smart to keep letting people who wouldn't vote for her in the first place get angry about her bare bones website.

You can find the same high-level vision in her speeches. It’s no secret.

So it should be easy to get those down in writing and on her website then right? what's up with the delay? the election is 3 months away

It's one thing to be speaking policy in a speech like Clinton and overdo it, but it's a completely separate thing to barely mention policy in your speeches and on top of that have not a single one on your website. just requests for donations.

Eh, I'm voting for Harris no matter what. If she never does an interview or a debate or a town hall or a rally or whatever, she will still have my vote. If she never posts a policy position on her website, if she talks out of both sides of her mouth on every important issue, it doesn't matter because she still has my vote. If other people want to punish her at the ballot box for hiding or being disingenuous or whatever, they can choose to do that. To me it doesn't matter a jot. Trump determined my vote 8 years ago.
