Regardless who was at the 5, March had more to do with Jalen playing out of his mind. Also, they started hot that month before Alp got hurt.

All that means is that the Lakers didn't bring in a real center, so Davis was the "Center" by default. Semantics.

Anyway - Alpi will be better than Davis.

If Alpi stays healthy he probably will have a cumulative better career than AD but there is less than a 50% chance he reaches peak AD seasons where he makes like 3rd place in MVP voting.

because their team works best when they only play 1 center, davis isn't much of a shooter anymore so he can't play the 4, so starting a 2nd center would kill them. Alpi will surpass him at some point, this will be davis age 31 season but right now he's obviously not in the same universe

If he is not in the universe, and AD plays with one of the greatest players ever, how come the Lakers didn't do a lot better?

Also, this was the Head-to-Head matchup last season.

Doesn't look like "not in the same universe" to me.

They won 47 games, lebron is still amazing especially for his age but he's not the crazy impact guy he was when he was younger, come on. The rest of that team is just trash. Couldn't care less about head to head, it's a 3 game sample out of 82, completely meaningless unless it's gonna be a playoff matchup. I don't get your argument, are you saying that TODAY sengun is better then davis? or on the same level?

When you say "not in the same universe" you are implying that AD is way better than Sengun. I think he's just trying to show you it's much closer than you think. Just cuz Sengun doesn't do it the traditional way doesn't mean it's not as effective.

Even if AD is better he's never healthy so why does it matter. I wouldn't trade Sengun for AD cuz being available is the most important skill.

Ya i wouldn't make that trade either, davis is almost a decade older. Right now, AD is way way better, at some point he won't be, but that point is not today.

I think that's where we will disagree. I don't see how you can look at their numbers and impact and say AD is way better. Besides shot blocking. everything else is relatively close and Sengun is a much better play maker. I also don't feel like AD is in his prime anymore. After the bubble ring I feel like he's taken a step back.

OKC isn't one of the worst teams, neither is Cleveland

Why are we even arguing about "pure" center?

There are only three basic positions in today's NBA: Big, Wing, Point.

What is the difference between a C and a PF? Outside shooting? Size? Strength? Is a center who can't shoot from outside more pure than one who can? Is a center who is slow more pure than a fast one?

Okc is a great team, but wait I think you are missing a small detail for that game, can’t quite put my finger on it. Oh yeah the MVP of their team was out.

Honestly what Jalen Green did that game had nothing to do with the absence of SGA. Him splitting doubles with JDUb, Dort, Wallace, Joe guarding him was impressive. OKC is an elite defensive team with or without SGA.

Give it a rest. You should sometimes just give credit where it's due so you aren't accused of being a hater.

Between the back and forth I’ve had with the poster I was responding to, neither of us mentioned Jalen Green even a single time, please try to follow along. Jalen has nothing to do with the conversation, as much as you would like to inject him into every topic.

One of my employees is from Turkey. We talk basketball (and soccer) sometimes.

    He told me this:

"He is improving a lot. One of my friends saw him in the same hotel he was practicing every early morning even during holiday."

If Sengun shoots ~75% from FT and ~35% from 3P, he would easily bypass KAT.

Right now though, KAT is the best 3pt shooting big in the league (if we don't count KD as a "big") , 41.6% at 8 3P attempts per game is crazy good.

The problem I see with Sengun is, he can be stopped with a good defensive effort, but so are 95% of current NBA players on any game day.

If there are couple more consistent contributors on the team to draw attention (hopefully Jalen, Jabari etal..) and if he develops a reliable 3P shot, then he will likely be an all-star.
