Espada, with all the issues in his first season, is only 5 games back of where Dusty was last year. This after a 12-24 start. Since then Espada is 51-31.
My brothers in Christ, a great win. Baby David is taking his sweet time and looking like a tomorrow delivery.
Astros now the closest they have been all season to the WC race, only 1 1/2 games behind KC for that last spot (1 game in the loss column).
But if he had flown out to centerfield and the run scored and the runner moving to 3b, we would be cheering him for a sac fly.
he basically outran a double play - in that regard it wasn’t as clear as a sac fly. I’m proud of him for the RBI - it still wasn’t pretty
He deserves a lot of credit for his improvement throughout the season. Early on he was too timid standing up for his players (that first ejection was pathetic) and his decision making seemed panicky. The use of Hader and even Pressly to a lesser extent early on didn’t make sense. He was leaving starters out too long and didn’t have anyone warming in obvious situations. Pretty much every aspect has improved significantly.
Blake Snell since returning: 45 1/3 IP 14 H 14 BB 5 ER 60 K I've never heard of anyone going 45 innings and giving up only 14 hits.
