This person is a liar and doesny know their stuff. And you fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Stop drinking. The state with the highest poverty is a red state. Poverty rates were highest in the states of Mississippi (19.58%), Louisiana (18.65%), New Mexico (18.55%), West Virginia (17.10%), Kentucky (16.61%), and Arkansas (16.08%), and they were lowest in the states of New Hampshire (7.42%), Maryland (9.02%), Utah (9.13%), Hawaii (9.26%). https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_poverty_rate#:~:text=Overall, out of Americans for,%), Hawaii (9.26%).
Yeah it's beautiful out here and the weather in stunning. I'm lucky to live in a conservative area where they do not play around with homeless encampment. They'll allow you to pander though but don't setup shop. But even with that, since the pandemic I've seen encampment in places I have never seen before. The congregation of them was worse from 2020-2022 but since then you'll find more mini ones setup here and there. Half abandoned shopping centers, old churches, and government offices are ripe with them. What is interesting is you'll see a decent car, say a 2016-2019 model, that'll have blankets in the windows and a whole setup next to the door because that's that person's sleeping spot. Pretty crazy how it is in California.
maybe in the piedmont hills part which is the only side Oakland pd makes sure doesn't get overran by homeless or crime
Berkeley is a POS aside from the spots around the claremont club. Basically everything between Richmond and San leandro in the east bay is crap nowadays. Sucks cause the weather is the best
we were in the e-ville marina until a few years ago. had three floors in one of the towers. but no one wanted to come back in the office post-covid, so closed the whole thing down.
Los Angeles is improving. The homeless camps (besides the one on Skid Row that’s been there for decades) are all becoming fewer and fewer, there were certain sore spots that were becoming an awful burden for the community. One of them was on Venice Blvd under the 405 Freeway, right where LA and Culver City meet. Neither city wanted to take action or accountability. there were shootings, drug deaths, fires, and an open air bike theft chop shop operation. one random day early this year , it was gone. Fencing went up, they cleaned up and cleared it out. this is happening all over the city. And of course overall crime is down just like it is everywhere else. I see the positive and the possible when it comes to my communities and don't buy in to the fear mongering and the doom/gloom.
