Texas is the only state that has its own grid. Check your bill. We are getting charged out the Wazoo from borrowing from other grids. It’s absolutely a giant problem. All that infrastructure is just going to cause more rate hikes.

Saying that, I’m not going to pretend I know anything about the water crisis. Us in Houston have gotten plenty of rain.

I'll check my PEC rates, and I'd like to know yall's.

I know there's a better thread for this discussion.

This one is for helicopters and freeways.

No ****. I don't want to fight traffic every day to sit at a desk. Granted, where I am in my career, the interpersonal interaction is valuable, but for thought jobs, especially for introverts, there's no point. And you're paying for your own damn space, utilities, etc. What's not to love as an owner or manager if you're not a control freak or narcissist who just needs people in the office to lord over?

how much of the traffic is this bullsht from amazon flex, doordash, instacart...
    everyone zipping around town "working".

mass transit requires cities built for it. you can't just drop mass transit in houston and expect it to work unless there are a bazillion buses everywhere..then you are back to square 1...bus traffic.

we need to reduce the size of this city. start consolidating parking lots into garages. make the city more dense. as long as we love our SUPER CENTER WALMARTS and SUPER HEB....we will have to depend on cars.

Be proactive... build a 5th one while the 4th one is being built. Besides, 99 isn't really a loop. It's a partially-eaten donut or a noodle of a highway.

The 5th one will need to extend over the Gulf of Mexico.

I'd be scared when it washes out during a storm with people on it as they try to flee a Cat5 about 4 hours too late. :D

I don't like bending over for freight traffic. We shouldn't be building roads to accommodate Amazon's business model. Convenience over local jobs? Meh.

Totally agree that Houston needs to shrink. I don't understand why we have HPD in Kingwood.

If it was up to me I'd cut out the loop, oak forest, spring branch, uptown and secede from Texas.

You aren't wrong about more loops. Houston must subsume Austin and San Antonio, as is our right.

146 is 'part' of 99. Not sure why they don't have their marker mark on there.

We cannot have any green in Texas. As long as there are small patches of grass somewhere, there's enough space for another strip mall or condo
