He was signed out of the Pioneer League, played for the local team up here in Montana. Pitcher ERAs here are wild, he had a 6.5+ ERA if I'm not mistaken, so its likely the Front Office was keeping tabs on him after his career at Missouri Southern. So I'd say both.

I'm in the Kalispell area, about 90 minutes from Missoula. It's a beautiful part of the country, definitely worth a visit.
I keep trying to talk them into a Summer/Winter house swap...I summer up there and they winter down here for a few weeks.
