What matter is now…go get me Loperfido’s stats since his decent start. If you go back to his last games with us, they’ve been absolutely garbage.
I don't know anyone who said they are for sure better and I'm the one who posted it. I said Dubon is a known quantity and Leon and Joey both aren't. They COULD be better and LIKELY won't be worse but Dubon is who he is.
Since July 1st: Loperfido 29 wRC+ Dubon 27 wRC+ Dubon is basically neutral at outfield defense, power, and speed. Loperfido brings exceptional defense and above average power and speed. Both beyond terrible but at least Loperfido brings some upside and value in other than his bat.
Lookin good. He will have to refine his plate discipline and defense but he has a chance to be a really really good player.
Ended up being the difference making run today. So far so good. He's had some solid AB's, demonstrated loud contact, only has 3 K's. Can't hope to see much more from a guy in his first MLB action.
His k today was disappointing, he watched a strike in the zone on 3-1 that he should have taken out. But yeah overall he is a good lookin player so far.
Not only were they saying it would be cool if this was the ballpark one could homer as his first, they had a Ken Caminiti montage of his first away home run. It like they were calling it Babe Ruth style.
Anyone got the clip of him pimping it? Got a good feeling about him if he was kept around after all these prospects were dealt.
As much as Gomez did not pan out the rat did carry the staff late in 2017 before we brought on JV. Who knows how everything ends up if we don't have him during that time. I'll take the Pennant/Ring even if it has caused us grief afterwards. I feel that except 2015 it's been the starting pitching failing that has caused us to lose the playoff series more than bullpen failures.
