I would like them to carry a 3rd catcher too and play Caratini everyday at C/DH/1B. Notice how when he played the other day they scored 6 runs? 5 runs yesterday? Notice a trend?
Murfee is much closer to returning. I would be surprised to see Graveman but Murfee should return unless there’s a set back
Yes, if I were GM, Salazar or Narvaez would be the 13th guy instead of Diaz. I like Salazar because he can also spot at 1B and 2B and could also probably handle LF, plus he hits lefty and is great at putting the ball in play as a pinch hitter when needed.
It's about confidence and trusting your stuff. When most guys first come up from the minors, MLB hitters are almost mythical. It's natural to nibble and hope after 2 strikes. This is a wonderful sign of growth. I'm excited for he and Brown for the next 4+ years.
Astros looking for their first 3-game road sweep this season -- and to offset some of the foolishness that happened at MMP the last homestand. A win will also be Astros season-high games above 500 (7). We'll see "what Brown can do for you" ---- keep that ERA below 4.00 (currently 3.98) Spoiler We didn't get Paxton, but he might help us today.. lol
If both catchers were JAGS, or plus defensive catchers but negative bat guys it would not matter. If the Astros had 11 non-catchers who projected to be positive players, it would not matter. But since neither of these things is true the Astros are just handcuffing themselves sitting a guy on the bench w/ 4 PAs in 21 days on the roster and hasn't played since July 23rd!!
It looks like Tucker or Whitcomb are the 2 potential guys the Astros could drop A.Diaz for. If the Astros keep scoring and winning, they have little incentive to add Shay to the 40. It feels like if Salazar was an option he would be up by now.
