The guy was deployed in a supporting role and served honorably during the Afghanistan conflict. He didn't vote 'No' on bills supporting veterans as Vance did. Nor did he fake bone spurs to avoid serving as Trump did.

To note, he didn't serve in Afganistan, but he did partake in Operation Enduring Freedom in Italy. He didn't use them, but he definitely carried weapons of war in a support role.
Yes. He was deployed to a support role in Italy during the war. Neither Walz nor I claimed he was in Afghanistan as far as I know. I beleive Americans stationed stateside in WWII are still veterans of that war. They still carried a weapon while serving their nation in the war.
