Tatum is good/very good at a lot of things but not super elite at any of them. That's great in the NBA because you can build whole teams and lineups around him because he has no real weak spots But on team USA that basically makes you Just Another Guy and there's 1-2+ guys better at every skill he has.
the country is failing right now.. and who is president sonya massey was executed while BIDEN was president
Have lost track of which previous clutch fans guy this poster is - I remember the days when you could sniff out the latest Fatty or Nomar or Rockets Dynasty alter ego in like 5 minutes - but the important thing is I don't care
And who did klutch sports kill that you want USA to lose? If you're so big in fairness, may want to pick some other guy than the art of the steal guy
He wouldn’t be rooting against the US team if the starters were Larry Bird, Rick Barry, Jerry West, John Havlicek, and John Stockton.
It seems to me the 6 point play was a decider, erased half a deficit and got USA going. Dumb foul by Jokic (or good flop by Davis),cannot remember if I remember last time I saw something like that.
Not sure why there are so many people up in arms about people rooting against Team USA. Sure, if you're American then you might be inclined to root for the US team, but just because you root against them doesn't mean that makes you anti-American.. cmon now. There are bigger things than sports in order to determine one's national pride. If that were the case, then the majority of America would be anti-American for wanting the USWNT soccer team with Megan Rapinoe (someone who has been hateful of America) to lose in the last women's World Cup. You could argue it's the same thing here. You have Steve Kerr, an absolute clown show of a human being and someone who is also very ignorant of his American roots (remember the Morey/Hong Kong debacle and Kerr's idiotic response to freedom?). It's a dilemma in that I want to see the players (minus Steph Curry) succeed but also want to see Steve Kerr get embarrassed on the world stage. And then there's the factor of just being a sports fan in general and pulling for the underdog subconsciously. The Olympics is more about seeing great athletes from all over the world perform on a big stage and to see good sportsmanship - while there's obvious bias for your home country athletes, just because you're rooting for athletes from other countries doesn't make you anti-American lol... Granted, now that they're facing France - hope Team USA smashes Wenbanyama to bits and blows out France. Also, if I haven't made it clear yet. f*** Steve Kerr
There was a moment when I turned the game on yesterday and didn't know who to root for. These are definitely not the players I root for typically being a rockets fan. But I usually do root for all the USA athletes in other sports so I started hoping for the comeback. I have never been a big fan of Kerr at all but I am glad they won. It would be a lot easier if one of our guys was on the team.
Like you said, I'm having a bit of a harder time rooting for this version of Team USA (mostly because of Steve Kerr and Steph Curry) than in years past, although I am rooting for players like Ant, Tatum, Booker, Jrue, and some others. If there was a Rocket on the team (even if it was Jalen Green lol), then yea, I'd probably be rooting hard for Team USA to win every game. Sometimes it's okay if you don't like how a certain someone represents your home country and wouldn't mind if they lose - people like Rapinoe, Kerr, and Britney Griner come to mind. It's sort of depressing to see people like Kerr get all the glory of potentially being an Olympic champion while at the same time, they turn around and talk trash on their own country and treat others like crap. On the flip side, if say a US military vet who served several tours protecting our freedoms, openly roots against Team USA, does that make that person anti-American? Because that's exactly what happened in the Women's World Cup - literally all of America (including the majority of American women) were hoping for that ungrateful, disrespectful US women's national team to lose lol.
