I mean of course you will cheer if he erupts, but the key question is: will you go back and say there's information outside this data that can project things relatively accurately?

Because I'm not flipping a coin over here. Just like you've done the amateur GM'ing with the stats/metrics, I've done my amateur psychoanalysis and scouting on top of the stats/metrics. I've looked into what was said about him and by him since high school. And I'm good at this **** because there's no stats at my job, I just have to make a decision from some amorphous interactions.

I don’t think jalen blowing would prove that data is wrong or invalid, there’s always exceptions to everything. Lauri is probably the biggest i have seen of it and it happens with jalen, awesome. I have also never said that i have given up on him, just that SO FAR he has been awful and i think it’s unlikely he fulfills what i had hoped him to be.

thats because he shot tremendously efficient especially from three in those games

if he shot 30% from three in those games then those losses as usual

Well you just described nba/sports for what it comes down to

Pretty sure if you go look at First 3 rounds of Mavs series, you had said experts (some) saying Irving/Luka were best off. backcourt ever.....

That same duo played in Finals and did not look like GOAT offense backcourt

That Irving definitely was not the 16' Finals version

Now we all Hope that Green has that 15 game March stretch for 65% of season this time around coming up, hell some will take 40% of that, which would be upgrade still

Every player wants to be efficient, bottom line is to win, nothing more nor less

Rockets are going to go as far as Bari/Sengun/Green takes them this yr......and its really up to the duo that started the draft rebuild to showcase their arrival and get a play-in/off berth and show out and get their bag like the others, rather it be with Htown or elsewhere

It happens too often in the NBA to call it an exception. I listed many of them for you on another thread. You nitpicked at all of them with minor stuff but the premise was clear: you cannot treat the formulas as though they have already been perfected. You're making an underlying assumption that the formula not predicting this outcome (Jalen taking a big step) is an outlier when it could just be a formula that still needs a lot of improvement.

There are too many "exceptions" in the NBA. The formulas will be better in 5 years and way better in 15 years. It's very clear and obvious to me Green is going to have a great season.

Hope so! I’m definitely rooting for you to be correct and not me on this one. Obviously there’s never going to he a way to perfectly predict stuff in sports, not with data, and sure as hell not with the eye test.

    Data

3 years 33% efficiency from 3 pt ln no imorovement whatsoever after being given all the minutes, greenlight, shots, repetition

And most inconsistent 3pt % in 3rd year

There's an exponential benefit to us in Jalen succeeding and I believe Stone/Udoka understand that. They've scouted the market HEAVILY for a star and we're still sitting with Jalen Green.

Green is not that far away from what we need from him. Udoka wasn't here to absorb those two seasons of tanking that have us all Basketball-PTSD lol. In his lone season he believes the development was good when taking both sides of the ball into consideration. He was impressed by his resilience, patience and coachability.

I think Udoka believes in himself as a development guy too. I don't think he's thinking "how on earth will I improve Jalen's shooting and shot selection?". He's probably confident in himself and his staff.

That's why I'm glad Udoka is the most hands on coach in the summer we've ever had. He didn't have enough time last summer with them and know them. I think he's going to be on top of Jalen's workouts this summer and - given it's a contract year - I think Jalen will happily comply with anything. The signs are good.

That's labelled wrong. It should actually have them looking at a 13.8% 3PT shooter instead of a 33%. That's how crazy they are.

Its more of a one size fits all meme and not so much aimed at Amen who I like alot, but who will never become any sort of shooting threat outside of the free throw line, and im cool with that. Alot of the Jaters pine for the exploits of Booker or Ant and they high five with the other mouth breathers in a tag team effort of who can be more edgy and demeaning as they cook up their next burn. Meanwhile people with a fully developed frontal lobe look at the disconnect and realize it boils down to less than one made shot per game. So 3%, 5% as impossible as they make it sound is really trivial at the end of the grunts and chest bumps.

Yeah tbh I mostly just put that to prod at them because they're all b****ing and throwing my name around despite me only ever talking about players. If they want to cry like little b****es all the time I'll give them some more fuel for their little echo chamber fire.

Make sure you only talk about Jalen HERE so as not to anger the Forum Mafia! They might make a new thread about you and attach a poll! Gasp!

I'm sure I'll cry myself to sleep...no wait, that's what they're doing non-stop. To paraphrase/take inspiration from Christopher Wallace's "Machine Gun Funk:" All I see is b****es, big fruity b****es lol. I'm hardly going to apologise for supporting our best draft pick/prospect since Yao Ming tbh, especially when the majority of the hatred is fuelled by a bunch of troglodyte incels who can't handle that he gets wayyy better women than them despite painting his nails.

you're happy with your BF SG chucking an average 7.5 3FGA at 33% all last season?

you'll be ecstatic having Poole as your side chick then
