Whitcomb has played 1B in 4 straight games. Sugar Land is 71-38 on the season, that’s probably the best record of any Astros minor league team in the least several years at least.
Aren't they on track for some type of minor league record? edit: I found it. https://www.milb.com/news/omaha-sug...ZLdcZKrjEWvr4PU2iQ_aem_CujF7eKQcfypMdEJrppqvw
The pitching has been low key good in Sugar Land. It looks terrible because the PCL is a nightmare to pitch in, but they actually have the second best ERA in the league. Not sure there are more than 2 or 3 guys I really value as prospects, but they've been solid as a team And I don't know how it escaped my attention, but the Dodgers AAA team in OKC is going by the name Oklahoma City Baseball Club this season.
I'm assuming a rebrand and not a move? eta: yep, local rebranding: https://ballparkdigest.com/2023/12/15/goodbye-okc-dodgers-hello-oklahoma-city-baseball-club/
Miguel Ullola with 5 no-hit innings for Corpus: 2 BB, 5 K Rolando Espinosa being the high OPS man in the Hooks lineup entering tonight is... oof. (It's currently Tommy Sacco, who has walked twice tonight. Espinosa is 0-3 with 2 strikeouts)
With another hit tonight, Walker Janek has started his professional baseball career with a 3 game hit streak.
After his walk-off single, Espinosa re-takes the OPS lead for everyone who was in the lineup tonight (.684).
Brito mowing them down again. Has walked 5. Don't know if I trust those umps or the guys doing the game cast?
Luis Baez hit his 20th home run of the year for Asheville. Don't check the box score to see if anyone else has done anything for the Tourists.
