Zero chance that guy is actually Irish. My Irish family loves its chicken spicy. I’ve been removed from Ireland by 3 generations and my wife can attest my accent is way better than Billy Ray McCyrus in that video. Jaysus
I'm not gonna lie - I heard the accent and thought the same. But not being an expert on things Irish (other than the fact knowing their women have a high probability of being good singers), I found out he was born in Dublin (3 days before the Rockets Game 1 win over the Knicks in the Finals) and also grew up there. He even does a skit about it :
Being occupied for 800 years and enduring “light” genocide was a lot but if you must know, I beat Mike Tyson on Punch Out before most of my friends in junior high. You’re welcome.
For $5 bucks, everyone can be Irish! https://www.rocketsshop.com/805558-...an-rockets-size-s-rockets-colour-green-1.html
I've been in Ireland for four days and so far it's been a very good trip most of the time. The weather except for today has been surprisingly good with temps in the 70's and sunny. The food has also been much better than the last time I was here. The Irish have discovered finally how to make crisp chips (fries) instead of the soggy under cooked potato wedges that seemed to be everywhere last time I was here. Unfortunately they've also been serving mushy peas with almost every meal. For those who don't know what mushy peas are they are exactly what they sound like. Peas cooked down into a mush with little to no seasoning. When we first got them my buddy traveling with me thought it was guacomole and was in for a rude surprise. Unfortunately for my buddy he was not feeling well at all and has put himself in the hands of the Irish National Health Care system. I blame the mushy peas. Thankfully sounds like nothing major.
In Cork on advice of several people who had been there I tried Hillbilly's chicken which is a Cork institution. It wasn't hot at all. It did taste remarkably similar to KFC original recipe.
I used Irish Spring soap the other day for the first time in many years. It really dried my skin out. I walked into the shower feeling dirty and left sounding like dried leaves scraping along the sidewalk in a gentle wind. I'm not trying to be mean, but the Irish really need to do better. On a side note, I found out one of my cousins moved to Ireland. Maybe I'll visit one day.
Maybe not the right place, but I'm absolutely obsessed with this Irish dude Eion Reardon who does woodworking and tool restoration Tic-Toc style videos on YouTube. Its effectively Man ASMR, listening to him talk about making hand tools in his lilting Irish brogue. I can't get enough. In this instance, your culture actually is my (midafternoon) holiday.
Subtle way to tell me you want me to come over and help you fall asleep each night, Ottomaton. I've always been fond of you as well.
You know what’s crazy…i haven’t been to the HLSR since I took my high school girlfriend to see the Judds in 1991. Before that it was to see Bill Cosby with my mom and dad when I was in 8th grade. I’m not a rodeo guy. I’d always tell my parents, I’d rather just go see the Astros.
Restoration videos are some of the best videos on YouTube. Right along with that guy that cooks 5-star steaks on rocks in the jungle. I don't think he's Irish, though.
