Leon got brought up- give him a real chance. Don't give him the Joey treatment getting splinters in his butt. Dubon has a .430 OPS since July 1st. Meyers worst month last year was .529 and he was benched, not seen for the rest of the year, and left off the playoff roster despite their being a 14th roster spot available. FWIW his career worst is .465 (August 2022) and he has gotten crap about his terrible bat for years.

But don’t they also need Dubon’s bat to come back to acceptable levels? When this offense was at its preverbial ‘best”, Dubon was doing better and hitting in the 9 spot (and possibly getting better pitches to hit with Altuve on deck). I know everybody knows which players have potential upsides/ceilings and Dubon isn’t one of them… but there also is very little opportunities for “on the job training” when these teams are trying to win every game now. Whether you ease rookies in or let them sink/swim (or boom/bust), there’s no one strategy thats better than the other.
