    Nope - this is it.

It is Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

    That is the Democrats ticket....

I really don't think there are any surprises, and that is part of why they likely went with Walz.

The people can choose who they want and then we can all go back to our normal lives and live with whomever wins.

Dude was a frigging correspondent in the Marine Corps. Walz did serve his country for 24 years and he went overseas more than once. He retired to run for Congress. JD HAD to go. It wasn't like he had a choice in the matter

"Vance was deployed to Iraq for six months in late 2005. Based on his memoir, he would “attach to different units to get a sense of their daily routine,” escort civilian press, and write stories about individual marines."

Not to mention the guy at the top of the Republican ticket was a draft dodger.

Tim Walz was also 40 at the start of the Iraq war. It’s not like he was a young buck who is claiming to be an Iraq War hero.

Long before J.D. Vance became the Republican nominee for vice president, he was known as Cpl. James D. Hamel, a combat correspondent in the Marine Corps.

“I was lucky to escape any real fighting,” Vance wrote of his deployment.

Walz was in the national guard for like 25 years.

Also - JD Vance was a correspondent in Iraq for like 6 months. I don't know how familiar you are with correspondents, but he was not involved in combat and wasn't at any great risk.

I am not sure why you feel the need to diminish the quarter century of service that Walz gave - but if you are going to do so, check your own closet first.

I do appreciate that Vance is not a supporter of sending US troops into foreign wars for no reason.

His pivotal moment in Iraq was :::checks notes::: handing out erasers...

    "
On a mission into Iraqi territory, Vance said he experienced a pivotal moment when he and his unit interacted with local school children. As they handed out school supplies to the children, Vance gave a small eraser to a boy.

After the boy received the eraser, Vance said, “His face briefly lit up with joy before he ran away to his family, holding his two-cent prize aloft in triumph. I have never seen such excitement on a child’s face.”

Apparently Republicans now think that military service doesn't count and should be treated with contempt unless a person actually goes into an active combat zone and puts their life in danger, even as a result of lies by war propagandists.

Vance himself has said he was duped into going to Iraq:

"JD VANCE: I served my country honorably. And I saw when I went to Iraq that I had been lied to."

Vance, unlike many GOP war veterans, is a leading voice against military intervention : NPR

All of this in order to elect a person who never served anyone but himself.

Will you go as far as ...

Servicemen with 20+ years of experience usually are not carrying a rifle on the front lines, no?

what did JD do in Iraq? I am sure he was carrying a rifle on the front line, no?

I really hope they go with this line of attack

Tim Walz served 24 years…JD Vance went to Iraq for 6 months to type on the computer

It's refreshing to hear Walz's perspective on China. Unlike many politicians, he offers a nuanced view that stands out for its accuracy. Too often, we hear simplistic, populist rhetoric that demonizes China and pushes for conflict. This approach can be dumbly dangerous and not constructive.

Our relationship with China doesn't have to be adversarial. Instead, we should aim for a tough but fair engagement. This means being demanding when necessary, but also seeking outcomes that benefit both nations. Walz seems to understand that effective foreign policy requires a balanced approach – one that protects our interests while recognizing the potential for mutual gain.

Walz served for over two decades. And continued to help veterans in public service. Vance, not so much. Trump not at all.

Seriously? LMFAO He was a correspondence writer in Iraq for 6 months. He saw no combat and his only real memory of substance is handing an Iraqi boy an eraser, who then was excited and ran away.

They are literally just throwing everything at the wall and seeing if anything will stick - there is no real fore though. There is no plan or focus.... they literally just exaggerate or make **** up and see if anything works.

This would be hilarious if we were not talking about people that run the country.

Not at all would be an improvement over his view of veterans: losers and suckers who died for nothing. He's incapable of understanding personal sacrifices. It's just something that can't compute in his head.

(Republicans should keep on using this line of attack)
