LMAO!!!!! Cmon man. That kid has been traded several times now and has never sniffed the playoffs. We’re not talking about Luka here, You and Danny Ainge need to stop “ hearing “ things and get back to reality! Lol!!!!
He’s only been traded once, he went to the cavs i believe as a sign and trade but that’s like saying lebron was traded to the heat
Yea. He is just trolling with that crap. The Rockets wouldn’t even trade Sengun for Lauri straight up. It is Utah who would have to give a Lauri, another good player and picks to have a chance at Sengun. The Rockets will trade for no less than a superstar or next tier star in a position of need like Booker. They want to grow from within and will even have a hard time with that with the new apron rules.
He went from Chicago to Cleveland then from Cleveland to Utah and now from Utah to ?????. It will be the third time in 8 years with none of his teams having any playoff success. Why would Ainge believe he has this unbelievable leverage? He’s clueless or postering.
He went to the cavs as a FA, and he hasn’t been traded yet. He was been traded once, in the Mitchell deal as salary filler because he was just a guy back then. Hard to have playoff success when your team tanks though i won’t argue that
Hey guys, I was not being serious at all. Was mocking how insanely stupid it is that anyone on this board would ever think we would be dumb enough to deal with that scheister Ainge. If you want to trade with Ainge then expect to get fleeced beyond fleeced. This thread is ridiculous because the Rockets have a good front office that would never give in to Ainge’s outlandish demands for what he perceives is a superstar.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reports that Lauri Markkanen is expected to sign a “massive long-term contract extension” with Utah. Markkanen will sign the deal after Tuesday, meaning he can’t be traded during 2024-25 campaign. This update walks back a Monday report that Markkanen would not sign long-term deal with the Jazz and either get traded during the upcoming season or hit unrestricted free agency with a big payday. The terms of the deal aren’t yet known, but Markkanen will be Utah’s foundational cornerstone for the foreseeable future. Fantasy managers can expect top-25 per-game production for years to come. - per rotoworld
Signing a 27-year-old borderline all-star level player to a 5-year max extension is a recipe for hamstringing a franchise for years. They will be dealing with the ramifications of what will be an albatross contract as teams desperately maneuver the new CBA.
It's crazy how Lauri has been top 15 per game the last few years but instantly kills you in the playoffs because he always has a magical post-ASB injury. 2 years ago someone offered me him (~top 18) for Sengun (~ top 40) straight up and I said no cause of Rockets bias and it ended up saving me.
Thankfully teams like Detroit, Utah, Orlando and Cleveland exist to protect other teams from themselves.
I want some other teams to NOT be protected from themselves. We need some top teams to make some signing blunders. Bottom dwellers making those moves make the Rockets job harder.
I actually began watching more of Lauri recently. I came away impressed and I think he’s more athletic than I gave him credit for. I would even say, I think he’s a little bit better at potentially creating more offense for himself than he has done so far career to date.
