Lunches for school children is the gateway drug for ... Marxism*. * And by Marxism I mean policies that do not promote unmitigated cruelty.
I seriously think Waltz letting himself go helps with the "authentic vibe" compared to Trump who did every trick that he learned from celebrities in his 50s/60s. He looks like a boomer, even barely qualifies while Kamala does not, but supposedly has a personality and doesn't project as a milquetoast like Tim Kaine. Haven't done a deep dive but they definitely did research on what looks and first impressions are needed for swing states.
Ok but how do you know any of us are leftist maybe we see the real picture and not wearing blinders like you right leaning members of the board.
Walz is the first statewide candidate I'll have had the opportunity to vote for that I feel confident could change their own alternator.
Yeah look also at Sherrod Brown as a Senator from Ohio of all places who has some of the most progressive policies in the Senate. However the voters in Ohio see him as someone who speaks plainly, comes across as a very nice guy, and constantly talks about the workers over and over again. It's clear he's in it for the little guy, and that goes a long way in politics. The Republican activist reaction is just kind of hilarious because of how predictable it is. All of these talking points are so canned, and very Trump like now in how they just use the same demonizing language over and over again for anyone and everyone not in the cult. No intelligence thought, or nuance required. Just "He's a Communist!!! These Leftist vermin are horrible!! quack quack". Aren't normal people kind of tired of this BS?? I think this inauthentic response has to turn people in the middle off you'd think right?? It seems so ridiculous when you do it with someone like Walz that it has to backfire.
To be fair, they're a bit pre-occupied with picking out their new tiki torches from Pier One for the next White Guys First rally to really formulate any real well thought out positions yet.
an unforced error; she had a chance with Shapiro to broaden the coalition, and perhaps take PA. Waltz brings nothing to the ticket, unless you think you need to win the old, white progressive male vote. there may be a few of those out there, but they were voting for Harris anyway. Plus, Waltz's record during the Covid/BLMR era, and Harris' support of same, gives the republicans a clear line of attack. as an old white male, I am disappoint. plus, the last time the world combined progressive populism with jew hatred, it didn't work out so well.
Not many people know that Stalin started out by making sandwiches for young comrades. (my younger son literally just got home from church in midtown where he was volunteering with the sandwich making to hand out lunches to the homeless in the area, so this is a particular source of concern in my commie home)
Walz is the safe pick. Shapiro had more upside. As we can see with ATW, they'll try and label the person married to a Jew as the anti-Jewish candidate in the race.
I already told you how my comrades are seducing unsuspecting descendants of Scandinavians and Germans with spice. I'm part of a special cadre to seduce the Irish.
