Bowen to Rox? Decision soon? http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36~90~2431101,00.html Vandeweghe keeps interest in forward White Bowen's agent, Guy Zucker, said his client is expected to decide on an offer no later than mid-week. Zucker said the main contenders are Denver, Miami, Houston and Seattle. By Marc J. Spears Denver Post Staff Writer If Rodney White clears up his court problems, he could be returning to the Nuggets. The Nuggets could be re-signing free-agent forward Rodney White in the near future if White is able to resolve his off-court problems. White was arrested last month in Washington on charges of carrying a pistol without a license. Last week he was released on a personal recognizance bond. Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe said Monday that White could be reaching a settlement soon. The Nuggets have $2.4 million available in free agency and also are expected to sign free-agent guard Greg Buckner. "We're going to wait and see how things turn out," Vandeweghe said. "We just want to do what's best for Rodney. Obviously, this is a very hard lesson for him." White averaged 13.7 minutes, 7.5 points and 2.3 rebounds last season. Vandeweghe said the Nuggets still have an interest in free-agent forward Ryan Bowen, who has played in Denver the past five seasons. Bowen's agent, Guy Zucker, said his client is expected to decide on an offer no later than mid-week. Zucker said the main contenders are Denver, Miami, Houston and Seattle. Bowen worked out at the Nuggets' practice facility Monday and owns a home in Denver. He averaged 7.5 minutes last season. "At this point, Ryan would like to make a decision," Zucker said. "Camps are getting close." Marc J. Spears can be reached at 303-820-5449 or mspears@denverpost.com.
Thanks for the scoop. I don't think we really need him though. He plays forward and I think he will only take away from Nachbar. Nachbar needs as many game minutes he can get in order to develop.
Yeah i wouldn't be up for giving up more of Boki's minutes to another forward. The guy deserves to actually play and show if has any skills. If he doesn't we can worry about another forward later. Ryan Bown is not anything that is all that hot of a commodity in my eyes.
Misleading title. I thought Bruce 'Lee' Bowen might be coming to Houston. Between him and Deke, our opponents will all have to wear cups and mouth guards.
this from: http://www.ohio.com/mld/ohio/sports/basketball/nba/cleveland_cavaliers/9778543.htm Cavs likely to add on Williams After physical, center expected to sign deal Veteran center Scott Williams will be in Cleveland today to undergo a physical. If he passes, he's expected to sign a one-year contract with the Cavaliers. He will likely sign for the veteran's minimum of $1.1 million. According to an NBA source, the Cavaliers are also believed to be close to getting a deal done with Lucious Harris. The team is believed to be offering Harris a one-year deal, and he might be looking for a longer pact. Williams, a 15-year vet, will back up Zydrunas Ilgauskas with DeSagana Diop. Harris, who averaged 6.9 points for the Nets last season, can play both guard positions and could bring veteran savvy.
The Rockets have two roster spots and no one who can play both PF and SF effectively. At his age, JJax should not play the same mpg as last season. The only way Bowen takes minutes from Nachbar is if Nachbar doesn't deserve them. In which case, the signing is a moot point from a Nachbar perspective.
