Matthews is playing 3B tonight. Would not surprise me much if Dezenzo and Matthews were Houston’s opening day 1B/3B next season, with how aggressive Dana Brown has shown to be with prospects he likes.
whitcomb is at 3rd in AAA. Not sure who hits, but it’s good to have options. Also — Gusto is through 5 with 5 Ks and 3 hits allowed, all singles. He wiped out 2 of them with double plays, so he’s sitting at 64 pitches. At some point, this is really impressive in a hitters league.
Big day for Kenni Gomez as he went 4-5 with 2 doubles, a solo homer (6), a stolen base (12), and scored three times for Fayetteville. Alejandro Nunez went 3-5 with a pair of RBI doubles as the Woodpeckers rallied from a 10-3 deficit to walk off with a 13-12 win over Columbia. The regularly scheduled game... didn't go nearly as well. They held Columbia to two hits but lost 6-0... mainly because four pitchers combined to issue 13 walks.
Ryan Gusto @ Round Rock: 7.1 IP, 4 H, BB, 6 K He got an inning-ending double play in the 7th and finished it off with a strikeout to start the 8th.
But his K numbers have plummeted this season, and he already has a career high in walks. It's why he's become intriguing.

Hard to predict. Leon and Whitcomb and Melton are all options but I think they still might view McCormick as the answer.
If they did, wouldn't he be playing much more? He came out of the break 6 for 20 and is back to sitting everyday for the most part if not facing a lefty, and when he does start vs a RHP he gets 2 at bats before being pinch hit for. And i'm not trying to b**** about his use again lol, but just saying if they viewed him as the answer it's weird that he isn't getting pretty much everyday at bats right now
