In a spot where you absolutely can not strike out. . Pena strikes out without seeing a pitch on the plate. And that's exactly why he needs to be hitting 8th or 9th.
Can anyone find our stats with the bases Loaded this year, I know we have no homers but I feel that we can't be hitting above 200, with less than 10 walks and at least 50 strikeouts.
Who do you propose bats 5th? The wonderful Jon Singleton who would be on pace for a whopping 60 RBIs if he played 162 games? The ever dependable Jake Meyers? (utter sarcasm) Make it make sense.
That's strikeouts in Pena's last 4 AB's. He's looked terrible these AB's chasing pitches. To answer your question, just about anybody.
.226 .260 .298 .558, with 63 runs scored in 96 PAs...Only 15 Ks though! Most of that is due to being absolutely pathetic with 2 outs and the bases loaded: .114 .205 .143 .348 over 39 PAs
