The actual opinions dont matter - its the utter disdain and rudeness employed by posters as they encounter opinions that differ from their own....

You cant post an opinion without somebody coming back at you with personal attacks and calling you an idiot or saying you have a low BBall IQ or some other way of insulting you - as they push their ulterior opinion... folks got no class... nobody can agree to disagree... smh

I'm all for the optimism. I just don't have a great feeling personally. The limitations he has will be difficult to overcome. The shooting form across the body seems doomed to inconsistency. Decision making with the ball can be improved, but it most often doesn't. We've seen so much of Jalen on starter's minutes, more than your typical 22 year-old. If now is not the time to move on, perhaps it's at the deadline... But if not then, how long should we wait for him to become a winning player? It's all about bets on these guys. There's a finite number of minutes to bet. Continuing to bet on a guy he's shown limited improvement on the biggest investment of minutes.. it detracts from the other players and will eventually not make sense. He might be a Chauncey Billups type that finally figures it out in his late 20s. Are you all prepared to keep giving him minutes for the next 5-6 years to wait for that to happen? And I suspect he'll demand a max contract? Is he worth that bet too?

    pretty much this.
@Dobbizzle not sure why you liked this when you are one of the chief instigators of insulting people and stooping to low-class personal attacks.

anyhow, season needs to start already so that we actually have material to talk about

A plethora of career good shooters have had more awkward quirks in their mechanics than Green's slight cross body motion when he brings the ball up to his chest to shoot. At the end of the day the most important aspects of a good shot mechanic are there. One motion, rather effortless. His career ft percentage also shows he's a naturally decent shooter.

His issue has always been things like being unnecessarily unbalanced fading away or to the left or right when he doesn't need to and most importantly this past season conditioning issues due to for the first time trying on defense at a much higher level. That creates more tired legs. Hence a career low in spot up shooting.

Bobbythegreat, hakeem94, player only fans, Lin and Sengun only fans are the worst which is sad because I like both players

Yeah, definitely not trash. I have a new appreciation for message boards as a medium. It fosters much more thoughtful conversation than modern social media.

Proper Message boards are some of the last vestiges of web 1.0. Twitter was never good and Reddit devolved into repeating the same stale jokes for internet points. That's not counting the bots all over the place that astroturf discussions on both websites.

The bad attitude poster can come with any player fandom so it is none of the above.

Also a limit on the number of posts except game threads could help. There is no way you can post that much and have good content. At the best you are repeating the same things in different threads and people have already read what you think.

Been a Rocket fan since the San Diego days. Society has changed dramatically. With the internet it’s only magnified. And carried over to the sports-entertainment world.

The dislike of a player or poster is FINE. It’s the immaturity of the responses which has become a drag. But as to the Rockets specifically ( this thread ) we keep forgetting the Silas years. He throttled the development of our young core. Made watching Rockets basketball unbearable. The fan/forum base got agitated and turned on each other.

    Udoka is fixing that.

I am excited about players I think will help the Rockets win. When players are a drag on the team, I want them to go elsewhere. Nothing personal.

at the risk of actually applying critical thought, I think adding the Like button does a lot of damage. It inherently creates validation seeking posts and echo chambers. You don't need to apply your own decision making process, you can just blindly follow what other people have pre-selected for you.

None of the above. The response of all professional sports to the covid pandemic pulled back the veil sufficiently to ruin the hype and excitement of live games. That combined with the whiney, entitled, and massively hypocritical psuedo-activism of the wimpiest stars in the history of all leagues made the games unwatchable. Most of the fans checked out. The only people left are the most polarized extreme fringes and mush-brained gambling addicts. Long story short, it's over. If you're still here, you haven't figured it out yet. I do miss you guys though. =(
