Was the former Democratic governor of NY involved in the case in any way?

Otherwise his opinion is no more knowledgeable than yours and less knowledgeable than mine.

actually Cuomo was the state Attorney General for New York, so even though he's an assshole, his opinion is knowledgeable and I suspect (no insult intended) way more knowledgeable than yours

An ******* with his own sexual misbehavior, who escaped trouble with the law and is morally and ethically dubious, can have valid and strong legal opinions. I would rather consider the opinions of others who are equally or better legally qualified.

Andrew Cuomo was governor until 2021 when the case was already public knowledge and don’t recall him saying anything then.

further the case was already underway before Trump declared he was running for reelection.

Yes. He has some knowledge of all the position works, but he didn't work on the case. They were privy to information that he wasn't. They got convictions on all counts. I used to play little league, but that doesn't mean I have any special information about little league games today.

Most importantly, I've recently formed the opinion that no opinion is more valuable than mine. And Cuomos is less valuable than most people's.

a refresher for short attention span types

Trump’s name, presidential bid real reason behind ex-prez’s ‘hush money’ case: ex-NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo

    https://nypost.com/2024/06/22/us-ne...prezs-hush-money-case-ex-ny-gov-andrew-cuomo/

    excerpt:

“The attorney general’s case in New York, frankly, should have never been brought,” Cuomo told Maher. “And if his name was not Donald Trump and if he wasn’t running for president… I’m the former AG of in New York [and] I’m telling you that case would’ve never been brought.”

Added Cuomo, the former New York attorney general: “That’s what is offensive to people, and it should be because if there’s anything left, it’s belief in the justice system.”

This case re-affirmed belief in the justice system. It didn't damage it. I think most people who follow politics even a little believed that the case would help Trump's political/financial goals.

He was tried because he broke the law. This case showed that even though Trump was given preferential treatment, he was still held accountable.

mindless drones just throwing their lives away

A man in Las Vegas has been charged with threatening to assault and kill federal officials, judges and state employees across several states, according to a federal indictment, including at least two people involved in the prosecution of former President Donald J. Trump.

The man, Spencer Gear, 32, was charged with 10 counts of threatening a federal official and 12 counts of transmitting a communication containing a threat to injure. Mr. Gear was taken into federal custody on Tuesday after pleading not guilty to the charges in the U.S. District Court in Las Vegas.

In a detention order signed on Thursday, Magistrate Judge Brenda Weksler cited a recording of a telephone message on June 3, “which was directed at a judge and a district attorney,” referred to in the indictment as A.B. and J.M., the initials of Alvin Bragg, the lead prosecutor, and Juan Merchan, the presiding judge in Mr. Trump’s hush-money trial in New York.

Judge Weksler said the language in the message was “of great concern to the court.”

The message was left on the Monday after a jury found Mr. Trump guilty of all 34 charges in an illegal scheme to influence the 2016 election through a payment to silence a p*rn actress who said the two had sex.

Mr. Trump’s lawyers have asked Justice Merchan to overturn the verdict, citing the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision granting him immunity from prosecution for trying to overturn the 2020 election.

His lawyers have argued that the ruling, which gave the former president broad immunity for official actions taken while in the White House, invalidated at least some of the evidence presented in Manhattan, including the testimony of former White House staff members and social media posts that Mr. Trump made as president. The judge said that he would rule in September.

Judge Weksler noted that Mr. Gear’s threatening phone messages for Mr. Bragg and Justice Merchan were among a dozen such calls made even after the F.B.I. warned him that the First Amendment did not protect this type of speech.

Mr. Gear, Judge Weksler added, did “not seem to have respect for the judicial system and for judges, which indicates that he will not follow any conditions of release that might be imposed.”

Between Nov. 30, 2023, and July 7, Mr. Gear made threatening phone calls and sent an email containing threats to assault and murder eight federal officials, according to the indictment.

Mr. Gear also threatened state employees, prosecutors said. The Justice Department identified the targeted officials by only their initials but said they were federal judges and employees in Washington, D.C., Montana, New York and New Jersey.

If convicted, Mr. Gear could face up to 10 years for each count of threatening federal officials, and five years for each count of sending threatening communications.

I hope they lock him up a long time. Those type sickos need put away. Unfortunately, Aileen Cannon was soft on crime for Paul Vernon Hoeffer, a 60-year-old man from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida for making multiple death threats against three Democrats.

Pelosi, D-Calif., was his first target, according to court filings. In one call to her office, he said he would "come a long, long way to rattle her head with bullets" if she doesn't resign. In another, he threatened to cut her head off "jihadist-style."

After a Pelosi staffer transferred him to the U.S. Capitol Police, he was warned that death threats are criminal. Hoeffer responded, “You know how hard it is to prove someone made a threat?”

He also left a series of threatening voicemails for Foxx, using racial slurs and threatening to kill her, according to court filings.

The FBI traced his number, went to Hoeffer's home and warned him to stop. Hoeffer, who runs his own towing business, apologized and assured the agents "he would not continue to make calls of this nature," prosecutors said.

But in Nov. 2020, he left a threatening message to the office of Ocasio-Cortez, threatening to decapitate the New York congresswoman and warning her to "keep one eye open when you sleep," the filings said.

Cannon only sentenced that sicko to 18 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $2,000 fine. That's ridiculous.

Trump must appeal to the federal courts to get relief. More campaign money spent on lawyers in un-winnable legal adventures is less campaign money The Convicted Felon can spend on ... say ... his campaign.

If Trump gets convinced he is going to lose and will have to face the trials in Georgia, DC and FLA, I suspect that he will switched to spending 100% campaign funds on his legal teams.

So Trump had sex with a p*rn star, right?

I’m curious why does he lie to his followers to their faces about this at rallies and speeches but he was never required to go under oath?
