here's another interesting bit from Althouse on how good Buttigieg is at speaking, but she also makes the comment that Trump is a "genius" at speaking. While her giving Trump serious attention over the years has given me reason to take him a bit more seriously, I don't think I can go with her as far as she goes about Trump being a genius at speaking. But of course she's given it a lot more thought than I have. "But while he is seen as a long shot for VP, the blizzard of Buttigieg appearances is thrilling his legions of fans on social media..." https://althouse.blogspot.com/2024/08/but-while-he-is-seen-as-long-shot-for.html excerpt: His speaking ability really is fantastic. The tone of his voice, the speed, the substance... whether you agree with him or not, you really ought to admit that he's the best at speaking. The others in contention for VP pick are nowhere near him in this skill, which is not the only skill involved in government, even though we often act as if it is. I consider Trump a genius at speaking, but it's a wild and entertaining form of speech that makes some people worry he lacks the proper temperament to serve as President. Buttigieg sounds exactly presidential. more at the link
I've seen Pete making the rounds on a lot of shows lately. He has a concise and on point way of making his points using facts without being overly wonky. He could likely fill the VP attack dog role if selected.
The dude is so sharp and articulate. I have grown to really respect his way of dealing with both sides of the aisle, he doesn't scream and shout nor does he go on the offensive to berate someone`s view. The maga crew would have their collective head explode if they teamed up
He seems more confident, comfortable and much less robotic in front of the camera. I've really grown to like him and hope he stays in a high-profile role where he can make a difference, should Kamala win (knock on wood).
I didn't watch much of the debate, but I can't imagine Biden did worse than that. That is a Saturday night live skit. I can't believe people are seriously considering that guy as a presidential candidate. That's hilarious. He has no clue what he's even talking about half the time.
