I cuss. Sometimes a lot and usually at work. I work with two people that don't cuss, but they do use a lot of heck, crap, dang it, screw you, and other substituted words. I curious is cussing actually using bad words or is it the meaning of the words being used?

Its passable if its used as an emphasis. Its low brow if used as everyday vocabulary.

Think of it as positive energy vs negative energy. Little difference between a person complaining all the time vs a person who is frequently dropping f bombs.

I'm probably one of those types who uses the "substituted" words. Growing up I was told it was rude. My parents would get mad if I cussed at them and quite frankly, I don't appreciate when someone is saying to me, if things get heated. I don't so much mind it in passing/normal conversation. It is weird, because I listen to a lot of rap music, and have to pause when I'm rapping along with it.

I think, like a lot of things, it can be offensive depending on tone or situation, and completely normal depending on the same things.

I cuss a lot. I use it in casual language and expressive language. I cuss at work and even with some of the bosses. It is intent and meaning that makes the word. I do not cuss much in front of my children nor my parents. Everyone else get the beautiful language.

SUPPOSEDLY - cussing in an office setting builds trust & rapport.

Just read the room and never go FULL Boston.

I very rarely cuss at work and generally try not to. I will say “heck” and “damn” but try to refrain saying anything saltier.

I’ve picked up the Minnesota habit of of say “oh geez” a lot. It’s a habit I would like to try to break.

It's an abbreviation of saying 'Jesus'.

    Just expand on it:

    Je-sus ****-ing Christ.
