that was my mall growing up. Meeting girls from msn city chats when I was 14. Going to the arcade and lining up to play marvel vs capcom 2. Getting caught stealing a polo shirt from Foley's

Yes, but it's a south american mall. Cats there wear jean shorts and thick gold chains . They have some fine ass latinas though.

Dam, it was great in its hay day but turned into a dump. In HS my mall was North Oaks (Lived in Greenwood Forest) and we used to "cruise" it on Friday and Saturday.............but like you, Willowbrook Mall opened, and we had a new place.......................good times man

Other than hitting the food court back when I worked at the Exxon Greenspoint campus, that was about all I ever did at that mall.

But all the childhood malls are vanishing. Growing up it was a rotation of West Oaks, Westwood, and Sharpstown. If I was with my uncle it was Northwest where he would buy pipe tobacco, and if we were feeling fancy it was Town and Country.

I was surprised to learn that West Oaks is still around, but with just barely any stores left.

I read about this last night. Greenspoint was in my mall rotation during the 80's. My mom used to drop me off at the arcade while she went shopping. Occasionally me and my friends would go there if the movie we wanted to see wasn't at Willowbrook or North Oaks.

Later in the 2000's when I worked at a call center right down the street, I'd hit up the food court for lunch every Friday.

Now when I drive by it on the tollway, the parking lot is always completely empty. Last I heard it was an outlet mall. I guess that didn't last too long.

I just barely consider North Oaks a mall. Wasn’t it like a mini-mall? FM1960 was fun way way back in the day.

Oh well, goodbye malls. I remember them all. I remember when Northline was a nice mall.

Is that where Target was? I think a Michaels or some similar store was there too along with a dollar theater. More of a shopping center.

I went to an afterhours club in the early aughts in Houston with a friend I didn't hang out with much in that capacity. At the club, my friend befriends the shadiest dude in the place (the guy you know is holding and selling) and talks me into giving him a ride back to his place 'near Greenspoint'.

About 15 minutes into the ride, my Spidey-sense was tingling so I told them to drop me off at a gas station because I wasn't feeling well. My buddy comes back four hours later and tells me the guy held him up and took his wallet. He said he played psycho, floored it and started waving around his Marine discharge papers yelling to just shoot him. The guy eventually put away his gun and said to just pull over.

My buddy had said this guy was promising to hook us up with some 'black b****es' and drugs. I didn't know about the shadiness when we left or I would have definitely just stayed at the club. This was before Uber but I would have found a way home.

Lessons: Trust your gut, my buddy really was crazy, and always go away from Gunspoint Mall.

Yes, Target was in there. Not much of a mall. Yes, I think a movie theater was in there also.
