It wasn't THAT long ago when Ferguson was actually a really valuable bullpen arm, as he put up a 1.82 ERA in 37 appearances with the Dodgers in 2022. However, things have not gone nearly after LA traded him to the Yankees before the season, as he has posted a 5.13 ERA in 42 appearances with them in 2024. The Yankees have traded Caleb Ferguson to the Astros for a minor leaguer and international pool money. https://climbingtalshill.com/posts/...ferguson-concerning-bullpen-move-01j42g8wg014 https://www.chron.com/sports/astros/article/caleb-ferguson-astros-yankees-trade-19607446.php
This probably didn't need it's own thread. He was good on the dodgers cause they were cheating. Duh...
I'm fine with this one. He's another rental who is having a bad year, but at least Dana Brown didn't get violated in acquiring him.
A flier, is his stuff as good as it used to be with the Dodgers? If so with a little tweaking this could be a big win. After seeing what Dana. Miller,, Murphy did with Tayler I'm on board with this trade.
Has the arm to be a legit playoff leverage option, he could also be a scrub you hate to see getting warmed up. Given the relative minimal cost, this is a great upside trade. I hate giving up (or paying) anything substantial for bullpen arms and their wild variance.
Yeah giving away international pool money not ideal. Especially for this franchise who feasted on the international players.
More fail. Lol. We are putting a TON of faith that we'll turn Kikuchi into a Cy Young winner and Ferguson into something else that isn't a giant pile of human waste.
The Stros are one of the best orgs in MLB and they decided to go Walmart shopping at the trade deadline. SMH
