If Dana can trade for Diaz without giving up Baez, Matthews, Blubaugh I will be very happy. If he has to give up one of them I will be ok with the trade, depending on how many years Diaz has left on his contract.

The Mariners keep fighting to make moves - getting former Rice Owl Chargois from the Marlins

If the Mariners get Diaz, it's going to be tough to stay with them. It's funny. The Diaz move that comes in the next hour or so might determine the division. Scares me to imagine what Brown might give up in a panic situation like that.

Don’t see the point. Comparable numbers to Singleton and it just takes another LH bat out of the lineup. Plus I cringe at the **** the Rays would ask for after seeing Brown get fleeced yesterday.

Diaz has been awesome against LH pitching and Singleton has been putrid. Even if they platoon some it is an upgrade. Paredes was the real prize for the stros, but they got outbid.

He is head and shoulders above Singleton.

    130 wRC+ since 6/1/2024 vs Singleton's 92.

    $10M next year
$12M club option in 2026 with no buyout.

Has played nearly as many games at 3b as 1b but none this year and only 6 last year.

I don't see us getting Diaz. We can't outbid the Yankees or the Mariners.

Career .805 OPS with a .287/.373/.432 slash line. That’s comparable to Singleton?

I'll take Yandy Diaz 10 out of 10 times over Singleton......

Yandy the last three months has had his OPS for the month go from .....750.... 820.... 800

Diaz also has an almost 400 points higher OPS against lefties than Singleton.... and Yandy has had an OPS of 810, 810, 750, 820 and 930 the last 5 seasons going into this season.

Let's be realistic, doubt the Astros get Yandy. Which other bat out there can the Astros realistically get?

I don't either. Hopefully he goes to New York. There is no good answer here. If we get him, that means we were probably fleeced. If we don't get him, we were fleeced yesterday for no reason. Ugh...

Brown has put himself in a tough spot.

Yankees and Dodgers both heavily involved in trade talks for Tanner Scott - at least two other teams involved including the Rangers.

We absolutely can just like we did for Kikuchi

Then everyone will scream about how much it cost and it was an overpay.

If it ends up being Melton, Baez, and Blubaugh the cost of the Mariners getting him would be higher

I mean they can offer better packages than we can if they want.
