Dana Brown had a track record of finding talent in the draft but Alex Anthopoulos was the guy making trades and locking their young players up and signing FA. Hire him for Director of baseball operations. Sure. The GM of a team who's season is a failure if it doesn't make the ALCS/WS?? HELL NO!!!!
Crane wanted to have more input. That's what he decided to do when he hired Brown and the results have been bad.
It feels like Brown got desperate and just gave in. I really truly hope he doesn't make any other deals. Trust me I get it, I know we need pitching but this was just inexcusable…
Exactly Click knows what he's doing. Remember when he rebuilt the bullpen and no major prospects were lost? The Maton/Diaz for Straw deal? Then we've got Dana, should've made a deal a week ago and you probably would have your team currently in 1st place and paid less on the market.
Gotta get a bat. At this rate I expect something like Metlton/Dezenzo/Ullola for Mountcastle. Maybe even worse.
Panic trade. That's all this was. I wouldn't mind it as much if it wasn't a rental, but this is absolutely ****ing awful if there's nothing more to it. This feels like a Jeff Bagwell move.
