I cannot believe we had to throw in loperfido . He should have been the whole deal . I get that there might be a logjam for him when Tucker comes back , but he only had 118 mlb plate appearances and was 25 . As I’m saying it , I feel like he’s not a great prospect. He had a crazy start to the year in the minors , but our Abreu malaise made us yearn for him … and he did give us a boost this year . but maybe there’s really not space for him and he wasn’t a renowned prospect . Idk anything about Wagner . bloss I like , but he wasn’t a top guy either . I hope we get more from Seattle . But I doubt we rue the day we made the trade . it’s about this year . seems like a high price
Normally there’s a way to justify a deal even if it looks bad on paper. But Kikuchi being a rental, I don’t see ANY way he pitches well enough to justify that package. Wow. Kikuchi could be 1998 Randy Johnson and I still wouldn’t make this deal.
You’re telling me we couldn’t even get Blake Snell for that package? Every other deal has been very reasonable for the teams buying. Literally what the **** is this trade.
Whether Kikuchi contributes or not, praying Houston wins the World Series so I can move on from this trade. Can't wait to hear what Brown says about the trade. Can't believe Crane gave the thumbs up.
My only sliver of hope is maybe they see something in the advanced analytics like they did with Morton and Pressly. Otherwise, F+ trade.
