I hope more is to come. The organization seemed high on Bloss so Kikuchi isn't making me very excited but we'll see.

Plenty of guys in SL that’s capable of eating innings and giving up 8 earned runs. Bloss could have done that himself. LOL
Look, based on what we know right now I don’t love it either, but Kikuchi’s FIP is much lower than his ERA. And his ERA up until the last handful of starts was much better. I don’t love it but Kikuchi is very likely an upgrade for the staff this season. Just holding out hope we somehow unloaded Montero’s contract as well.
Kikuchi probably is better than Bloss right now. I wasn’t particularly impressed by Bloss. Doesn’t have the velocity or anything that stands out really, but neither does Kikuchi.
I was really impressed with how Bloss shot up through the minors but maybe the Astros think his ceiling is limited.
He’s definitely better right now and capable of pitching more innings the rest of the season. The issue is it’s a steep price.
