Unlike the first 2 Deadpool movies that had stupid plots by accident. This one had a stupid plot on purpose. And that's 100% acceptable. Best DP movie by a mile. (Hated the first 2) Best fight scenes in a Marvel movie.
Yea I was reading some Yahoo article about the two actors (Ryan, Hugh) and, in the middle of it and out of nowhere, they decided to tell all about the cameos with no warning. Completely spoiled it for me.
Go back and watch PG rated 80’s movies and there is all kinds of cussing. I took my 14 and 11 year old sons. They know how to act. I used to shield them from things but I communicate a ton rather than shield them. I want them to learn from me, not somewhere else. Tons of language for sure, pretty over the top with F bombs. I liked the movie, didn’t blow me away but seems like Marvel knows where they went wrong, and want to get back on track.
Went with my 18yo, great movie. Still digesting everything because there was so much. At its heart it was a great Deadpool/X-Men-adjacent flick. Very satisfied. Taking my wife sometime this week because I think she will love it and some of the cameos.
This movie was awesome. Without spoiling anything, my Kids and I both thought the sequence that used "Like a Prayer" was an absolute instant classic. The defining moment of the movie. Reminded us of "Whats Up Danger" from Into the Spiderverse. So badass.
Just shows how having a movie made by people who care about the characters and actually like the source material leads to a movie fans of the characters and the source material will enjoy. The question is if they'll learn this lesson or will they go back to destroying IP to push political BS that everyone hates.
They weren't destroying the IP to push any politics. They were just pumping out content and the quality suffered. Because it had political content AND sucked it turned into a disaster. But that's a hard lesson they learned. They reshot almost the entirety of both Cap 4 and the upcoming Daredevil series to course correct. They're shelling out big bucks now for good directors, cast and writing. This is the ONLY MCU movie this year. They want to show the public that they have A-grade quality content again. And let's not forget, there were some stinkers in the MCU previously like Thor 2 and Captain Marvel. It happens.
I think in every Marvel movie they leave a lot of loose ends out there that they can pull from later and make actual major parts of a big team up story. But, they are left intentionally vague so that they don't have to use that plot point in the future. Also, they often leave major characters in a place where you can't tell if they're gone or if they will come back. Deadpool will 100% appear in a serious team up movie and there will 100% be some call back to Deadpool & Wolverine. He will at minimum be on Secret Wars. They probably had no idea how or where when this movie was created but that's the same for infinity war/end game. Hopefully, no one believes all the call backs in infinity war/end game were pre planned.
I guess it just depends on which IP we're talking about, some of it was due to hiring people who didn't care about the IP and just put out trash because they are incompetent and maybe weren't given the time to create something better, some didn't care about the IP and put out trash because they wanted to push political BS over telling a quality story. You can tell a story with a political message and have it be good....but you have to prioritize the story first and it would help if you didn't outright hate the characters or overall IP you are writing the story about....or, potentially even worse is if you LOVE an incredibly unlikable character that no one has ever liked...like Captain Marvel. I'm not sure the MCU...or just about any studio these days can right the ship, but the Deadpool movies were fun and they deserve all of the success they get. If you can't do anything else, you should at least be fun.
