I am trying to wrap my head around how you can inherit more than 3 runners in a game. Maybe if he came in mid at-bat?
Whether you like it, or you don't like it, learn to love it cuz it's the best thing going today. Whoooooo!
If Joe Kelly gets into the game today there is a 100% chance he will try to injure somebody. Astros need to be ready and and put hands on that a-hole. He needs to get his ass whupped once and for all.
Fun facts, Joe Kelly's career numbers vs. Astros: 8.44 ERA, 1.69 WHIP, 28 hits, 14 walks, 8 HRs, 1.012 OPS in 21 IP
Thank you Dusty for bringing Diaz along slowly so he would hit his stride during this year’s stretch run.
Roberts, Boone, Cora (minus 1 year), Servais, Cash.... there's been some manager consistency out there that you may not get as much of in pro sports anymore since everybody wants titles and if you don't keep winning them, changes happen. Hinch would still be here too if not for other circumstances. Still comes down to if there are truly "better" options out there. What works in the regular season may not work in the playoffs, but not all guys who may have playoff success here/there may be the best ones to guide for a full 162. That's where front offices can and should get involved on "game planning" (for the playoffs)... but during the long ass season, you can't necessarily micromanage as such.
Dave Roberts still has a job despite all the playoff failures because the FO does get involved in playoff game planning and he executes the plan exactly how they want him to. He’s a really good manager in that way. Dodgers are snakebit and unlucky more than dumb to have only that one fake covid title during this run. Which I love because I hate the dodgers more than any other team.
Amongst the best is true. But his bat made him a zero. Ausmus, Everett, Pitcher was always good for a bathroom break and the reason the Stros never won a WS during that era.
It was 1:30 am and my brain was running on fumes. Point is he has been very good at not letting inherited runners score.
Before he got his leg properly blowed up by Carlos Lee, AE's WAR from '03-'06: 2.3, 3.2, 2.9, 3.5. Not a lot of zeros in there. He led MLB (not just SS) in DWAR in '06.
If Spencer can stay away from the 6 run inning, we have a shot at the sweep. Will Smith isn't in their lineup.
