Well Polanco and Paredes both start with P. Oh, both are Hispanic surnames. And they both played more than one position.

And rumored to be interested in another bat. Think I saw Rooker. Maybe 1 of Diaz/Paredes.

1st baseman is third on the want list according to Dana. Price is probably getting too high for Parades and Y. Diaz.

As long as Tucker is actually coming back, that’s fine.

I saw Baez, Melton and Bloss.
Bloss is certainly a top 100 prospects if he would have stayed in AAA all year. Baez is borderline, depending how he finished up the year.
On BBREF, the majority of Polanco s value is from his offense. He played the prime of his career in the steroid area. Those comparative numbers don't hold up as well.

They are similar players in the same way that Vinny Castilla and Cliff Floyd are the same type of player in their prime. Doesn't matter how they achieve the value for the purposes of my comparison.
They add the same type of value to a team and we shouldn't be giving up the farm for either of them.

    Price will be high

But it's third because starting pitching is 1st and 2nd

We need mlb quality innings bad

Astros get: Flaherty, Andrew Chafin and Torkelson

Tigers get: Chas, W Wagner, P Leon, Blubaugh, C Gordon

Flaherty is not just an innings guy, he is a playoff starter. Torkelson needs a new home, a change of scenery, and the Astros need a long term 1B

Tigers like us need infield depth in their system and pick up a couple of potentials there, plus a couple of arms and a fresh start somewhere might get Chas going also

If that happens, I think we are at minimum going to the World Series.

The Tigers have no incentive (yet) to give up on Torkelson. It would take a prospect package that includes at least one guy who is a better prospect than him and Melton or Matthews are the only ones who would be considered.

Remember he was the 1st overall pick in the draft just 4 years ago. There is extra incentive for that pick to work out- as all Astro fans know.

Now if Torkelson has another down year in his first arb season and w/ only 1 option left then they reconsider this time next year.
